"Who is the Prince of Persia? There's more than one answer to that question. The prince is a lot like James Bond: an action hero who varies greatly depending on who is depicting him. Since the 1980s, he has appeared in numerous video games, a new graphic novel, and an upcoming movie starring Jake Gyllenhaal.
The dominant color in the earlier story is the orange of tiger hides and sun-baked dunes, while the dominant color in the later story is the purple of nighttime skies and a sumptuously decadent royal court. The male lead in one time setting looks so much like the male lead in the other that I wondered if they were one character at different stages in life, a reincarnation of the same character, or just members of the same family line. (Most likely the latter.) At least one female character is strong enough to give the idea that the book could easily have been retitled Princess of Persia".
