"Remember me" - When Tyler met Ally

"Robert is enlisted to play Tyler, a poetic misfit, who wants to be his own man but does not know how to find the path to becoming one. His father, portrayed by Brosnan, does not know what to do with him, which only leads to Tyler’s greater alienation.Until, he meets Ally who gives him a spark at a real relationship. She is quirky as is he, so it just might be ideal. That is, until her father played by Cooper steps in as the cop who busted Tyler earlier on with whom only tensions rise between them as Tyler’s relationship with Ally grows. They are very character-driven. Which is good news for Pattinson fans. Additionally, the movie will bring together a formidable love interest in Emilie de Ravin who plays Ally. She has great charisma and shines forth on the screen. This will be a much better pairing than Robert and Kristen, screen-wise. If the trailer is any indication, Remember Me promises to be the one film Pattinson does that will not be forgotten". Pattinson and Lautner: hot properties

Kristen Stewart on the cover of "Entertainment Weekly", December 2009.

"We've all seen "New Moon" and we can finally discuss the spoiler-heavy details of what worked and what didn't. That means we can unveil not only articles like this, but also our exclusive interview with screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg. In this sit-down with the adapter of the entire "Twilight" series, Melissa pinpoints four key details that she tweaked, augmented or deleted entirely, transforming Stephenie Meyer's novel into the biggest film of 2009. From Harry Clearwater's reimagined death to the lack of Laurent, read on for Rosenberg's official take on the tweaks that made "New Moon" shine: Hope Bella Got a Gift Receipt ... In one narrative device Melissa is particularly proud of, Jacob gives Bella a Quileute trinket meant to capture bad dreams — "One of my favorite things is the dream-catcher that Jacob gives Bella", the screenwriter said. "It's the first time that we see Jacob, and I wanted to establish his and Bella's relationship, his sort-of crush. [The gift establishes] her affection for him and Edward's jealousy of him. So I had the idea that he brought her a little birthday gift and came up with the dream-catcher, which would be true to his culture but also to the theme of the movie; there's a lot of dreams in this movie. That, I thought, played well. In Meyer's novel, the Volturi scenes are a moody medley of tension, fear and careful wordplay. In the movie, however, Felix lays the smack-down on Edward as he tries to protect Bella. Like many scenes, Rosenberg said she needed to up the visuals to take the place of lost narrative nuances. "In the book, at the very end, the final climatic scene is Edward and Bella and Alice going to the Volturi and the potential that they might not walk out of there", she said. "It is very fraught with tension, but the tension is expressed through dialogue, and I wanted to heighten that. I wanted to have that conflict be external. So I pushed it into an all-out-battle, and Chris [Weitz] and the stunt people, along with ['X-Men' star] Daniel Cudmore who plays Felix, did this great action sequence at the end that's just really fantastic." Cause of Death Unclear ... Although he's a relatively minor character, the death of Quileute elder Harry Clearwater sets off a pivotal chain of events in the "Twilight" world. In Meyer's "New Moon" novel, Charlie Swan's friend dies of a heart attack. In the movie, the sight of vixen vampire Victoria kills him. So why the switch? "Well, in the book, Harry Clearwater's heart attack is mentioned as something that happens offscreen, although it plays a crucial part of the structure of the books. It's what gets Edward going to the Volturi, after he calls Charlie and then Jacob answers and says, 'Charlie's at a funeral', " she explained. "That launches the entire third act of the movie. ... That just gave me the idea 'Stephenie doesn't specify what causes the heart attack,' so I decided that it could be caused by something startling him. It could be caused by fear. That was a way to keep Victoria alive. It was a way to keep Charlie and the danger of the hunt alive, and that's where we get a really great action sequence with Victoria that blends together important parts of the movie and important parts of the book moving forward. So I particularly like that." The Love of Laurent Sadly, fan fave Edi Gathegi doesn't get much screen time in "New Moon" and dies quite quickly. Rosenberg told us that if she had one regret, it's that she would've liked to delve deeper into the nomad's motivations. "Yes, we had to pull out some of the backstory, because it really just came down to conversation. Laurent was in Alaska, trying to be a vegetarian briefly, and all of his relationship with the Denali clan," she revealed. "A lot of the backstory for Laurent had to be pulled, because it just slowed everything down. I wish we could have gotten more of that in there." Source: www.weblogers.net

"He's got that interesting sort of dirty handsomeness which seems to polarise girls," says Jay Fernandez of Hollywood Reporter. "Some say he really needs to take a shower, and some are really attracted to that."
The first adaptation in the series, Twilight, last year topped the UK box office with a £2.5m opening weekend. Movie bosses will be hoping Pattinson's popularity and the current vogue for all things vampire, fuelled by TV shows such as True Blood, can help New Moon to an even better showing.

Tatiana Siegel, a reporter for Variety who covers castings at the four major film studies in Los Angeles, said British hunk Pattinson was "the most in-demand actor of the generation". She added: "Now the trend in Hollywood is not so much to have an actor who carries the movies, but a brand, like Twilight. Robert Pattinson is one of the few actors that the studios can build a movie around."His co-star, Taylor Lautner, is also hot property. The 17-year-old piled on 30lbs of muscle for his role as the werewolf Jacob Black. He has been quoted as saying he would never take his shirt off on-screen again, but teenage girls breathed a sigh of relief this week when he denied the comment, adding that he would strip off if the role required it". "According to pop-culture pundit Pete Hammond, Jim Sheridan, the director of the movie Brothers which is due in theaters December 4, 2009:

...received a tremendous ovation Sunday afternoon when he was introduced for a Q&A after a very well-received Directors Guild of America screening. The free-wheeling director engaged in a refreshingly honest and thoughtful conversation about the film's bumpy journey to being remade.

The original upon which Brothers is based is the 2004 Danish film Brødre written by Susanne Bier and Anders Thomas Jensen which was directed by Bier. Brødre tells the story of a heroic older brother who serves in Afghanistan, his polar opposite younger brother and the woman who loves them both. Whereas Brødre was shot in Copenhagen with Spain standing in for Afghanistan, the bulk of Brothers was shot in New Mexico.
A six-time Academy Award nominee, Sheridan is best known for his work directing In America and In the Name of the Father. Brothers has a first-rate cast, as well: Toby Maguire as the soldier, Jake Gyllenhaal as his sibling and Natalie Portman as the wife and sister-in-law.Brothers looks incredibly compelling and powerful, especially so given the recent tragedy at Fort Hood". Oscar chances for "Brothers" and other films

ASPEN — Daniel Day-Lewis, Nicole Kidman and Jake Gyllenhaal will be making appearances — on-screen — in Aspen over the holidays."Aspen Film has announced a preview of the program for the 19th annual Academy Screenings series, and among the films are the musical “Nine” starring Day-Lewis and Kidman; and “Brothers” starring Gyllenhaal.

"Brothers”

Verdict: The rapturous reception at early screenings gave director Jim Sheridan’s film some genuine awards heat and prompted Lionsgate to launch an Oscar campaign. But “Brothers,” a remake of Danish director Susanne Bier’s 2005 original, is not a film that should be burdened with hype or high expectations; it’s an uneven, sometimes melodramatic, occasionally effective look at the way war leaves as much carnage on the home front as on the battlefield. Despite impressive moments of frayed-nerve intensity, there’s precious little subtlety here, and way too many clichés.
Natalie Portman is steady as the wife left behind when her soldier husband goes missing and is presumed dead, but Tobey Maguire’s haunted, wild-eyed returning soldier is over-the-top. For my money, the strongest (and subtlest) performance comes from Jake Gyllenhaal as the ex-con who finds a quiet redemption of sorts in his brother’s absence.

Oscar chances: Guild audiences have reportedly been welcoming, but early reviews are mixed and I’d be surprised if the film gets much traction in the awards race. Maguire and Gyllenhaal may have outside shots at nominations, though the strongest shot might rest with U2’s closing-credits song, “Winter,” which could probably use more of a hook and a chorus to survive the music branch’s nominating process.
“The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus”

Verdict: Stylish, fun, as imaginative as you’d expect, but also something of a mess. It’s admirable that Terry Gilliam found an intriguing way to finish the film after the death of Heath Ledger, and the three actors who take over parts of Ledger’s role – Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell – all acquit themselves honorably, though it’s undeniably frustrating that the big, climactic emotional scenes all come when Farrell’s playing the part instead of Ledger. But while I loved the look and feel and mood of the movie, it just didn’t have the heart or the magic of the two previous Gilliam/Charles McKeown collaborations, “Brazil” and “The Adventures of Baron Munchausen.”

Heath Ledger in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus shown at the opening ceremonies of Cannes Film Fest May 13, 2009

Oscar hopes: Art direction and costumes are a possibility if the movie manages to establish a presence in the minds of voters. Beyond that, there’s probably not much chance. Ledger’s role is flashy but feels too truncated for a second posthumous nod, unless voters really, really loved giving him the Oscar last year and are determined to do it again.

Kristen Stewart's fav book, Better.tv interview

Interview with Kristen Stewart to Better.tv
She allegedly is dating Robert Pattinson, but she makes a comment about as she's perceived as 'dating someone she's not'.

Kristen Stewart tweeted: "You have all proven you are the most amazing fans in the world once again. I feel so lucky to be a part of the Twilight Saga and thank you for making us # 1"... "Yes, I twittered. Or twitted..tweeted? I dunno, but thank you sooo much anyway..! today from web Twilight Twitter

Kristen Stewart was reading "Madame Pompadour" (New York Review Books Classics) by Nancy Mitford:

"-What is your favorite book?
-Kristen Stewart: "I actually have two. I just finished Cannery Row by John Steinbeck, which was really intense. The other is The Stranger by Albert Camus, that was heavy."
Source: famouspick.blogspot.com

"Steinbeck's epic California novels deconstruct the visionary and edenic West. Characters in "To a God Unknown", "The grapes of wrath", and "East of Eden" discover that they cannot impose mythic patterns on Western space -cannot, in short, cultivate orange groves in the Central Valley. His dreamers typically languish or perish. But as insistently as he dismantles the national mythos of Western expansion in his "big books", he contructs the West in little books".

New Moon actors talk about Eclipse

With the "Twilight" sequel nabbing the advance-sales record, the biggest single-day record and the highest-grossing midnight showings of all time, fans have to wonder: Can this franchise get any bigger? Fortunately, they only have to wait seven months to get the answer. Many of the saga's stars have cited "Eclipse" as their favorite of Stephenie Meyer's novels, and with "30 Days of Night" filmmaker David Slade at the helm, it seems likely to be a very distinctive entry into the blockbuster series.

'New Moon' Style Guide To The Costumes of Edward & Bella:

"During a interesting (to say the least!) double “date” with Mike (Michael Welch, left) and Jacob (Taylor Lautner, right) Bella wore the “Signe Smocked top” by Joie and American Eagle jeans. But the most notable part of her outfit is her token accessories — the turquoise bracelet and moonstone ring, which, according to Tish, were the very same trinkets Kristen wore in “Twilight.”One Bella takes a leap of faith (a.k.a. a cliff dive) she puts on Jacob’s big shearling jacket. The costumer found that coat, which was manufactured by Split, in old stock from the “Twilight” wardrobe closet.DASHING EDWARD
“This is the most important costume [for Edward] because it’s the last thing Bella remembers him in,” the costumer said of Robert Pattinson’s suit. “We had to be very careful about choosing something that was absolutely right because he has to spend almost the whole film in it.” So, instead of buying one, Tish created her own suit out of a grey tweed with blue and orange flecks in it. “I wanted old world fabric to match with his heritage. I also wanted something that had texture and that would be able to age.”
Kristen is wearing a custom made jacket that was replicated from the one she wore in “Twilight.”THE GREEN MILE
“Putting Bella in hunter green was a request from Chris [Weitz],” Tish said of Kristen’s button up shirt, which was a design from Boy by Band of Outsiders paired with J Brand jeans and Keds. “We knew that Bella was going to be running through a crowd who were all going to be in red, so we had to choose a color that would make her stand out and still transition easily to that forest scene at the beginning of the film.”
ROBED AND DANGEROUS
If you're wondering where the black shirt went that Robert was slowly unbuttoning to reveal his six-pack vampire self to the crowd in Italy (in the movie, we see him put on a red robe after his attempts are thwarted by Bella, but, uh, did he just dump his acutal shirt on the ground?), it's in the black hole pf movie making. "When the script was originally set, Edward was supposed to be captured outside by Demetri and Felix — that’s why he is thrown a red robe," Tish explains. "[But], by the time they decided he was instead going to be captured inside, we had already filmed the inside scenes."
THE ENCHANTED FOREST
“These were the first costumes that I designed,” Tish recalls of the sequence in which we see future Bella as a vampire running with Edward in the woods. “The fantasy was this sort of post-wedding feeling where they were hunting in these light-colored outfits through the dark forest. I didn’t want them in anything practical.” So, she put Robert in some pretty high-end threads: a vest from Loden Dager, a Club Monaco linen shirt, Orme in Portofino khakis and Magnanni shoes (the same ones he wears with the grey suit throughout the movie). For Bella, Tish aimed for sweet and girly, while Chris Weitz envisioned a look from Greek mythology: Diana the Huntress. The result? “We made that silk chiffon over silk organza dress. It was nice to see her in something feminine.”
