Elisha Cuthbert Video from Complex Magazine

Playing against type

"Sean Penn has now put a face to gay rights as Harvey Milk in the new Gus Van Sant true-story film “Milk”.While we’ve seen Penn deliver Oscar-worthy roles before (he won for “Mystic River”) and he does again for Gus Van Sant (“Good Will Hunting”, “Finding Forrester”, “Paranoid Park”), what assists in the power of his transformative character performance is the complement of a sea of other notable actors playing against type. We’re treated to an entirely new way to look at Emile Hirsch – whose character range is now light years away from 2007’s “Into the Wild” – and Diego Luna.

Universal Kisses

"You already know the difference between the size and speed of everything that flashes through you and the tiny inadequate bit of it all you can ever let anyone know. As though inside you is this enormous room full of what seems like everything in the whole universe at one time or another and yet the only parts that get out have to somehow squeeze out through one of those tiny keyholes you see under the knob in older doors. As if we are all trying to see each other through these tiny keyholes." - David Foster Wallace

Prince of Persia a lot like James Bond

"Who is the Prince of Persia? There's more than one answer to that question. The prince is a lot like James Bond: an action hero who varies greatly depending on who is depicting him.

Since the 1980s, he has appeared in numerous video games, a new graphic novel, and an upcoming movie starring Jake Gyllenhaal. The dominant color in the earlier story is the orange of tiger hides and sun-baked dunes, while the dominant color in the later story is the purple of nighttime skies and a sumptuously decadent royal court.

The male lead in one time setting looks so much like the male lead in the other that I wondered if they were one character at different stages in life, a reincarnation of the same character, or just members of the same family line. (Most likely the latter.) At least one female character is strong enough to give the idea that the book could easily have been retitled Princess of Persia".

"Twilight" Deleted Scenes and more

"So when I participated in a roundtable interview yesterday with Director Catherine Hardwicke for “Twilight” the one question I wanted to ask was about the upcoming DVD/Blu-ray. Thankfully, she was more than willing to talk about the subject and she says there are about 12 deleted/extended scenes and they’ll be a separate section on the DVD and not an extended edition. Catherine: Actually, I have been working on the DVD already. So we put together all the deleted scenes and extended scenes, there's quite a few, like 12 or something like that. And then I made some montages of some other crazy elements, like more vampire kiss, biting. And more human hijinks. And I made a pretty wild music video, like a remix of Bella's Lullaby and I did some pretty trippy things that you may like.Speaking of deleted scenes, and I'm sure fans want to know, what's the length of stuff that was cut out of the film? Is it any of the special effects stuff or is it dialogue scenes? Could you talk a little about what you cut?Catherine: Well, for example the diner. You know, the first day after school, where you go see Bella and Charlie and talking about their awkward meeting and stuff, that scene was about twice when we shot it. And so it kind of slowed down the pace …and it’s still cool, but it just kind of kept going. (she makes a cutting sound) So we just put the whole thing on the DVD. There were times when Esme and Dr. Cullen make a comment on how Bella's brought Edward to life, it was kind of in the middle of the tree top sequence, and you kind of just wanted to stay with Edward and Bella. So you'll see that. And there's a little bit more sexiness with the bad vampires. A little kissing and biting, nyah, nyah, nyah. Source: www.collider.com

Nikki Reed, Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and director Catherine Hardwicke.

Read the partial draft of "Midnight Sun: Edward's Version of Twilight" by Stephenie Meyer.

"Stewart can certainly pull off the look and is a fair actress by most accounts, but I'm going to find it hard to bridge her swooning Bella character in Twilight and the badass, ballsy rocker Jett, who went on to sing "I Love Rock and Roll." Of course, this is great news for Stewart and her career, but I wonder how fans of Jett and The Runaways will take this news.
During the time of the five-girl band, Jett played guitar and actually achieved further success in her own right after the band dissolved 1979. Though The Runaways were only active for four years, they certainly made a mark in the industry and arguably paved the way for artists down the line. The group disbanded amidst money and management disagreements. The film is said to center on Jett and Curie, and detail the rise and fall of the group who brought us, amongst other hits, "Cherry Bomb".What other actress might compliment Stuart and fit with Currie's personality? Maybe Evan Rachel Wood? That would be ironic since she dated Marilyn Manson for quite some time, but she would completely kill Stuart in terms of ability.Maybe Kirsten Dunst is more of an equitable pairing to Stuart, though not a rocker in the least? Who do you think would make a good Cherrie Currie? Source: www.firstshowing.net

Visiting The Beverly Glen Market

Jake and Reese visit The Beverly Glen Market In LA on 4th February, 2009.
I'm a bigger fan of this Fedora hat than his grey beanies. It gives Jake almost a N.Y. "No wave" touch.
