Singin In The Rain was directed by Gene Kelly and Stanley Donen. Gene was captain of the ship according to those who were there on set.
thanks for clarifying this issue, Sweet Sue, and given the importance of the choreography, I also think Gene Kelly was the main director in "Singin in the Rain".
