I added this song to the blog because it's one of my favourites songs. And you're right, it was composed originally by Van Morrison (remember that two songs of him were in the Moonlight Mile soundtrack?) in 1967, from the the Blowin' Your Mind" LP and became his biggest hit. The song was originally titled "Brown-Skinned Girl" but Morrison later changed it to "Brown Eyed Girl". Some pundits claim that the song is an allegory for a taboo sexual act.
There are many covers of it by Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Busted, Indigo Girls, Weezer, Green Day...
