That's a beautiful "montage" of pictures of, let me guess... another film with Joseph gordon-levitt? It's really cool!
The vulnerability in these pictures is touching.
Yes, Specialcracker, it's from "Mysterious Skin" (2004), a disturbing film which the scene I've posted belongs to, when Neil (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is with his friend Wendy (Michelle Trachtenberg) outside a drive-in theatre.
i've read some good reviews for "mysterious skin" but i'm not a fan of the director.
OT:I finally saw "Brick".
I was sure that I would like it but ,sadly, I didn't.I found it very pretentious and cold.
A lot of people seem to compare it with Donnie Darko but I don't see why.The only common element would be a strong presence by the young lead actors.
Well, I concur "Brick" is very cold, -pretentious? I'd call it challenging- with cold fast dialogues and wrapped as I said in my "Brick" theory in a equally cold surrealism/onirism. My boyfriend said something similar to you, Gr77, but in the second view he changed his perception of the story. I don't see the comparison with Donnie Darko either.
About "Mysterious Skin", it could be judged as a lurid experience by many. Warning: it's a very graphic exposition of child abuse.
i don't know if i could stand a second viewing..i almost didn't make it through the first :p
