"Streep, repped by CAA"

Meryl Streep an actress?
Who knew it??

This CAA is really getting on my nerves....they are like the diabolical underforce running the earth...

I see a plot to the next Bond film here...part Godfather, part Goldfinger, part Valley of the Dolls

This CAA is really getting on my nerves.

Isn't CAA the same reps of Jake too? Joking aside, Simon, I'm happy Ms. Streep costars in "Rendition". Reese, Peter, Meryl... and Jake!

gr77: Thanks, "I always want to rock."

CAA? this is all I know of this underworld organization:

Has some of the following people in their Harem:

Meryl Streep
J Gyllenhaal, M Gyllenhaal?
Lance Armstrong,Matthew many more also see here.

And the CAA was connected to the whole "Lonely Girl 15" scandal on YouTube...when it was learned she was a fake.

They are the power behind all the smoke and mirrors....

Must confess I have never been able to make up my mind whether I think Meryl Streep is a great actress or not. I liked her a lot in younger days (e.g. The Deer Hunter and Sophie's Choice), but in some of her later movies she tends to get on my nerves. I think it is overacting sometimes. Her fake accent in The Bridges of Madison County annoyed me throughout the movie. There's also something about the way her mouth is set that gets me in a negative sense!

CAA conspiracy, Simon, maybe Gore Vidal should investigate its plot in the shades.

I think you're right, Penny Lane, Meryl belongs to a league of former great actors, like Robert de Niro, Dustin Hoffman, Al Pacino, who are usually histrionic in their movies nowadays, it's a pity.

And add Jack Nicholson to the list, pure histrionism in "The Departed"!

I think Gore is busy with other things...
But since you mentioned him, I did find a movie trailer for the 69' film of his novel
"Myra Breckinridge" which stars Raquel Welch, Mae West,John Huston,Farrah Fawcett and Rex Reed.

It was given a X rating here. LOL

Thanks for the link, Simon.

I still remember Gore Vidal's appearance in a film I liked very much: "Bob Roberts", starred by Tim Robbins. An amazing underrated political story with a satiric script; Gore told the frog-inside-boiling water metaphor, the same Al Gore used in "An inconvenient truth", another filmic gem.

I'll msg you in the JW board with the details, because I'd fill this blog with many paragraphs!:)

for now here's the Trailer to "The Miracle Worker" 1962 plus the opening credits sequence...which was artfully filmed and the music is haunting...
Perhaps? the among best black and white openings IMO.?

I LOVE Meryl Streep!!
This is fabu!! Meryl Streep and Jake!! And Anne Hathaway is sooo pretty. Me=Mucho jealous
But I don't really like Reese. I watched her filming part of a movie, and she was REALLY mean to these girls. She was holding auditions for this extra with a few lines, and she wouldn't even let this girl try because she was fat. Jerk.

That's awful to hear, sarahgyllenhaal, although I am a fan of Reese regarding her cinema work, I've always suspected she has a hard personality, even a too cold head sometimes, and yeah, I've read similar comments from Kevin Smith where he auditioned Reese for his film "Mallrats" I think, and a former Kevin's girlfriend, actress Joey Lauren Adams felt awfully treated by Reese, who was reported to ignore Joey Lauren's greetings. Anyway, most of cinema stars can show a narcissist side in some occasions...
