Femme fatales: Myrna Loy, Lana Turner, Lizabeth Scott... and Emma Watson

Emma Watson in Vogue US magazine, July 2011: Watson’s gamine beauty is offset by a Tom Ford gold chain-mail top. Undercover skirt with brass feather overlay. Louis Vuitton clutch.

We headed to London to spend a few days with Emma Watson on her home turf—including a stop by the set of her first Vogue cover shoot, with Mario Testino. On the eve of her twenty-first birthday, the actress talked to us about the perils and pleasures of her young whirlwind life, and what she's looking forward to most in her next post–Harry Potter chapter. Emma Watson on fighting to balance education and work: “I have felt for the last ten years I have had this battle; I’ve been fighting so hard to have an education. It’s been this uphill struggle. I was Warner Bros.’ pain in the butt. I was their scheduling conflict. I was the one who made life difficult. I just realized at one point that I can’t fight everything. I have to move in the direction of it—and go with it.”

Rambova had taken exotic stills of Myrna for an unreleased movie "What Price Beauty?" that made the rounds to fan magazines and interest from Warner Brothers who signed her for a contract in the mid 1920's. Some of her first films playing a femme fatale we're in "A Girl in Every Port" 1928 starring Louise Brooks and Victor McLaglen. By 1929 she had co-star billing opposite Victor McLaglen again in the war adventure "The Black Watch". The film was directed by John Ford and Myrna was made up to play a native princess who wins the heart of the British soldier. Her third role as the non American beauty who captures a mans heart came in "The Perfect Song" 1929 starring John Boles.

Myrna Loy (1905-1993)

Born as Myrna Adele Williams, Myrna Loy was known as one of the Queens of Hollywood in the 30's. At the end of the silent era, Myrna Loy started her career as an exotic, Theda Bara-like femme fatale. Fortunately, she was rescued by the advent of the sound picture, where she was recast in the role of the witty, urbane, professional woman.

She is best remembered for her role of Nora Charles opposite William Powell in six "Thin Man" movies.

Emile Hirsch at Comic-Con: Day 3 on 23rd July 2011

Emile Hirsch hides behind a car in Russia’s famous Red Square in The Darkest Hour (2011) directed by Chris Gorak

"They can see us, but we can't see them". Summit has debuted the first official trailer for sci-fi thriller The Darkest Hour, directed by Chris Gorak (Right at Your Door), starring Emile Hirsch, Joel Kinnaman, Olivia Thirlby and Rachael Taylor. We've been teasing the reveal of this trailer with plenty of concept art, but finally get to take a look at this and it looks awesome. It's a fresh twist on alien invasion thrillers, as the extraterrestrials really are electrical forces, and the things they can do with that are just, well, awesome. This has slight a District 9 feel (the weaponry) but I think it looks great, there's never enough original sci-fi!

Directed by Chris Gorak (Right at Your Door), produced by Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) and written by Jon Spaihts (Ridley Scott's Prometheus), the film is about five young people who find themselves stranded in Moscow, fighting to survive in the wake of a devastating alien attack. Emile Hirsch (Speed Racer) leads the cast including Olivia Thirlby (Juno), Max Minghella (The Social Network), Rachael Taylor (Transformers) and Joel Kinnaman. Summit Entertainment is bringing Chris Gorak's The Darkest Hour to theaters on December 23rd, Christmas weekend, this winter. Source: www.firstshowing.net

Jake Gyllenhaal pulling out his gun on the set of "End of Watch"

Jake Gyllenhaal on the set of 'End of Watch' in Los Angeles on 2nd August 2011

Until now, we were positive it was not possible for Jake Gyllenhaal to be any hotter. Well, Jake has proved us wrong, and we’re fine with that! Jake was head (bald head that is) to toe in police uniform on the set of his latest flick, End Of Watch yesterday in L.A.

Jake even pulls out his gun at one point as he inches his way toward a car with his co-star, Michael Pena close-by. Source: www.okmagazine.com

Still of Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess in One Day

"Anne Hathaway insists Jake Gyllenhaal is one of the nicest guys in Hollywood.

The actress has starred with the heartthrob actor in two movies and insists he is always a pleasure to work with as he hasn't let his fame and sex symbol status make him arrogant.
Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal in Love and Other Drugs (2010) directed by Edward Zwick

She said: "I know actors always say this about each other but he really is lovely. I worked with him on 'Brokeback Mountain' and then five years later on 'Love and Other Drugs'; he was a great guy then and still is. He's a real person.
"That's a weird compliment, but someone's as good looking as he is, with as much adoration from such a young age, they could easily be a nightmare, or stuck-up jerk. But he's a good guy."

Jake isn't the only person in Hollywood Anne admires.

The 28-year-old screen star has a great deal of respect for Helena Bonham Carter and her partner, director Tim Burton, for the way they live their lives and their approaches to movie making.

She added to new! magazine: "I worked with them on 'Alice In Wonderland' and they're just so lovely. Tim marches to his own beat and he doesn't hear, or worry, about anyone else. I think that's something that he and Helena have in common. They're just living their own lives, as themselves, and they really don't care what people think. I find that so liberating. I really just think they're the coolest people on the planet." Source: www.azcentral.com

Saying goodbye to Robert Pattinson's sex hair

"I don't really see the point in washing your hair. If you don't care if your hair's clean or not then why would you wash it?" -Robert Pattinson quote

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in a clip talking about Breaking Dawn - TG Rai2

"I saw an interview wherein Kristen Stewart revealed he pulled and twisted his righteously-splayed locks in the mirror and so, I, too attempted to become the master of my do, twirling and knotting with reckless abandon until someone asked me what that nest on my head was and I died a little inside and later gave in to my barber.
From then on, I was put in my place—still I watched Pattinson's mane grow and evolve over the course of its few short years with us. At times it was a pompadour of restrained heights. At others, it was a finger-messed mop of prophetically tousled matter. In its last days it was quieter and more subdued, short and textured with an oily sheen of immortal glory. Of course, its days were numbered.
It's funny—looking at a wild head like that you always had the feeling it might live fast and die young. Things that great never stick around. But that didn't make its departure any less tragic or absurd. It's been almost a week, but I can't stop thinking of that image". Source: www.gq.com
