Meek's Cutoff Official Trailer, starring Michelle Williams, Bruce Greenwood and Paul Dano In theaters: April 8th, 2011

The year is 1845, the earliest days of the Oregon Trail, and a wagon team of three families has hired the mountain man Stephen Meek to guide them over the Cascade Mountains. Claiming to know a short cut, Meek leads the group on an unmarked path across the high plain desert, only to become lost in the dry rock and sage.Michelle Williams as Emily Tetherow in "Meek's Cutoff"

Over the coming days, the emigrants must face the scourges of hunger, thirst and their own lack of faith in each other's instincts for survival. When a Native American wanderer crosses their path, the emigrants are torn between their trust in a guide who has proven himself unreliable and a man who has always been seen as the natural enemy.

MICHELLE WILLIAMS: My hands have aged at a rate disproportionate to the rest of my body because of being out there in the hot sun for two months. You couldn’t keep sunscreen on your hands; you were just sort of filthy all the time. But the dresses, they were ingenious for so many reasons. They actually do keep you quite cool, because they’re cotton, and they also provide cover. Privacy is important to women, and when you’re on the trail like that, so little is afforded. But with the dress, you can actually go to the bathroom in private. It provides an incredible shield. You could literally be in a conversation with somebody and just sort of drop down . . . I read once that when James Dean was feeling inhibited on set, he went off into a corner and urinated. I thought, How interesting! Then having that experience of peeing in private underneath the dress . . . [laughs] At first I was really scared. You’re out there in the desert all day. I mean, what are you going to do when you’re a girl? It’s hard. We were scared about snakes and all these creatures and critters, and it finally just became this weird joy to be out there, just stuck behind the bush . . . I can’t believe I’m still talking about this. Source: interviewmagazine.com

Emile Hirsch to star in Oliver Stone's "Savages"

"Variety reports talented young actor Emile Hirsch (Speed Racer, Into the Wild) has also joined the cast.

It's not mentioned what role Hirsch will be taking, but production is slated to start this summer. For those just joining us, you can find details on the story below.
The story follows two young, independent Laguna Beach marijuana kingpins (Kitsch and Johnson) who are blackmailed into working for the Baja Cartel after their girlfriend Ophelia (Blake Lively) is kidnapped and held for a ransom of every last dollar they've made for the past five years. Travolta will play a burned out DEA agent named Dennis while Thurman plays Ophelia's mother. The meanwhile, Benicio del Toro is playing a cartel enforcer named Lado and Salma Hayek as a Mexican cartel queen-pin named Elena. Sounds pretty damn good to me and the cast just keeps getting better and better, too". Source: www.firstshowing.net

Michelle Williams wanted to fight Mike Tyson when she was a child.

The "Blue Valentine" star yearned to be a boxer when she was growing up and dreamed of lacing up the gloves and taking on the former heavyweight champion of the world.
She said: "First I wanted to be a boxer. I don't know why but I wanted to fight Mike Tyson. That was the dream". However, Michelle quickly realised her pugilistic ambition would not be realised and turned her focus to acting.
Michelle told Stylist magazine: "I started doing plays when I was eight. I always wanted to act. At 16, I moved away to Los Angeles. [Emancipation] is basically like divorcing them. You have to prove that you are emotionally and financially stable and independent. You have to have graduated high school and you have to prove that you can live alone."
"I did one commercial at first every six months and that was enough."

"Catherine Deneuve has revealed that she holds many of today's top actresses in great esteem.

"I admire Cate Blanchett and Kate Winslet", she said. "I like a lot of comedians. I like Cameron Diaz - she's funny and has a very light spirit. That's quite rare nowadays. There are many actresses I admire."
The two-time Academy Award nominee also revealed that Marilyn Monroe ranks as her favourite actress of all time.
She remarked: "Marilyn Monroe has my greatest admiration… She was able to do everything! I saw her as one of the best actresses; she could go from comedy to drama. Being great at both is very difficult. And she was so beautiful. On screen, it was like the light was coming from her." Source: www.digitalspy.co.uk

"Check out Jake Gyllenhaal’s yearbook photo taken more than a decade ago!

The 30-year-old actor, listed as Jacob Gyllenhaal, posed for the pic in 1998 while he was attending Columbia University in New York City.

A source who shared the same floor as Jake during his freshman year tells JustJared.com exclusively, “He did share that he identified himself as an aspiring actor at the time.”
In the yearbook, students were asked who they wanted to be like. Jake’s response - Kevin Bacon - was listed by default since he didn’t name a specific person.

Source Code in the ranking of Easter Weekend films, Happy Easter holidays!

"Easter weekend was a colorful bird affair as Fox's Rio won its second consecutive weekend at the box office with an estimated $26.8 million in ticket sales, a mere 32% drop from its opening weekend. It held off newcomers Madea's Big Happy Family and the Robert Pattinson vehicle Water for Elephants to take the top spot.
Water for Elephants marked the first legitimate test of Robert Pattinson's ability to carry a film away from the Twilight franchise.Still of Christoph Waltz, Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson in "Water for Elephants" (2011)

Some estimates pegged it as opening between $10 and $15 million, but the romantic drama based on Sara Gruen's novel that also stars Reese Witherspoon overperformed in opening to $17.5 million. As expected the vast majority of those who saw Water for Elephants were female.
Fourth place went to Hop which benefited from the Easter tie-in to rake in $12.5 million, an increase from its previous weekend. Hop is now guaranteed to cross the $100 million mark and is another much needed hit for Universal.
Wes Craven's Scream 4 took fifth place with $7.2 million after an unsurprising steep drop from its opening frame. The film should fade fast from theaters and then perform strongly on Blu-ray and DVD before you know it.
Rounding out the top 10 was Soul Surfer with $5.6 million, Insidious with $5.4 million, Hanna with $5.3 million and Source Code with $5.1 million.
