Source Code in the ranking of Easter Weekend films, Happy Easter holidays!

"Easter weekend was a colorful bird affair as Fox's Rio won its second consecutive weekend at the box office with an estimated $26.8 million in ticket sales, a mere 32% drop from its opening weekend. It held off newcomers Madea's Big Happy Family and the Robert Pattinson vehicle Water for Elephants to take the top spot.

Some estimates pegged it as opening between $10 and $15 million, but the romantic drama based on Sara Gruen's novel that also stars Reese Witherspoon overperformed in opening to $17.5 million. As expected the vast majority of those who saw Water for Elephants were female.
Fourth place went to Hop which benefited from the Easter tie-in to rake in $12.5 million, an increase from its previous weekend. Hop is now guaranteed to cross the $100 million mark and is another much needed hit for Universal.
Wes Craven's Scream 4 took fifth place with $7.2 million after an unsurprising steep drop from its opening frame. The film should fade fast from theaters and then perform strongly on Blu-ray and DVD before you know it.
Rounding out the top 10 was Soul Surfer with $5.6 million, Insidious with $5.4 million, Hanna with $5.3 million and Source Code with $5.1 million.

"The twitter account of American Zoetrope, the production company run by Sofia’s father Francis Ford Coppola, which has backed all four of her pictures, announced a few hours ago that Coppola’s got a new film in the works, entitled “Secret Door,” and that Kirsten Dunst, who starred in both “The Virgin Suicides” and “Marie Antoinette” for the director, has signed on to appear in the film. The exact tweet reads: “Happy to announce that Kirsten Dunst has agreed to be in Sofia Coppola‘s new film ‘Secret Door’. Script is still being finished. Stay tuned!”
“Secret Door” doesn’t apply to any obvious existing property that she could be adapting (there’s an Enid Blyton book, and an Arctic Monkeys song, but a link with either is unlikely), and the only unmade Coppola project that we’re aware of was a “European vampire” tale derailed by the success of the “Twilight” series, so this would appear to be something entirely new.
It’s probably safe to speculate that the film could be set up at Focus, who distributed the latest “Somewhere” as well as “Lost in Translation” - less like is Columbia Pictures, who were behind “Marie Antoinette”. Source: blogs.indiewire.com

Jake Gyllenhaal has a knack for picking perfect roles.

"Like a disorienting dream, Jake Gyllenhaal's new action-thriller, Source Code, opens with a scene on a Chicago commuter train eight minutes before it is blown up by a terrorist's bomb.
The film, which is directed by Englishman Duncan Jones (Moon) and co- starring Michelle Monaghan and Vera Farmiga, is like a jigsaw puzzle, with audiences collecting a new piece with each scene, unravelling the mystery of the terrorist's identity.
''Because there were so many clues, everybody involved with making the movie had to be so tuned in to what those clues were, particularly Duncan and I,'' Gyllenhaal says. ''We had to be very clear about that. If we ever veered off that, it would be incredibly confusing. We had to keep things simple so we could tell a very complicated story clearly.''
The 30-year-old asks that not too much of the Source Code plot is revealed by the media, hoping audiences go in fresh and unravel the mystery just as he did when he first read the script. ''My decision to do this movie was all about the story, even more than the character I play, although the character finds himself in a difficult, disorienting situation,'' he says.
''It brought up a lot of questions, like: 'What would happen if you were reborn? What would it be like if you had to deal with birth and death on an hourly, minute-by-minute basis?'''The film also had Gyllenhaal and his co-stars asking themselves how they would react if told they only had eight minutes left to live.
Gyllenhaal has been a favourite of the paparazzi after a number of failed high-profile romances with actresses including Kirsten Dunst and Reese Witherspoon and last year's short-lived fling with country-music star Taylor Swift. When Gyllenhaal is finished pondering changing history by inhabiting JFK or Lincoln's body, he is asked a more personal question.
