Stephen King suggests Jake Gyllenhaal as runner-up for "The Stand" film

"As The Hollywood Reporter broke exclusively Monday, Warner Bros. and CBS Films are teaming for a film adaptation of Stephen King's grand opus The Stand.
Want to know what King himself thinks of the idea? "I didn’t know anything about the remake until I read about it on the Internet," he told his former employer, Entertainment Weekly (King was a columnist for the magazine until recently).
Still, he has some thoughts about it. The author said it would be impossible to make it as a two-hour movie and suggested it would likely be better as a trilogy.

"Historically speaking, movie studios blow the budget on things like this, so maybe it’ll be fun to look at," King said. "The dough certainly isn’t going to me, although if it is a trilogy, and if it makes a lot of money, I might be able to buy a chicken dinner at Popeye’s. Great slaw!"
As for casting, he argued that "no one will be able to top Gary Sinise," who played central character Stu Redman in the 1994 ABC miniseries.

"He was perfect", King said, although he suggested Jake Gyllenhaal as his "runner-up pick." He added that Billy Bob Thornton would be "cool" as the Trashcan Man.

"QAccording to Life & Style, the Sunday night date was strictly platonic. A source told the publication that the 30-year-old actor and the singer, who currently is a part of the duo Jenny & Johnny, went to the fete as friends. The source further added, "Jake and Jenny haven't dated for years. They're still friends, and they went as friends."

It was said that there was no chance that Jake might try to rekindle romance with the former child actress since she is still dating musician Johnathan Rice. "Jenny and Johnny [musician Johnathan Rice] have been together a long time", the source said. "They just released a record together in the summer. They haven't broken up." 'Elektra Luxx' Official Trailer

Recently retired from the adult film industry, superstar Elektra Luxx (Carla Gugino) is pregnant with the child of late rock star Nick Chapel. She is trying to make ends meet by teaching a community college sex education class aimed at housewives when a figure from her past, flight attendant Cora (Marley Shelton), approaches her with a proposition. In exchange for the (stolen) lyrics to Nick Chapel's last record, all of which is about Elektra, Cora needs Elektra to seduce her fiancee. Elektra reluctantly agrees to do this favor, setting in motion a series of events which will see her come face to face with detectives, sex bloggers, emotionally unstable neighbors and the Virgin Mary herself as she wrestles with the prospect of motherhood and tries to become a person of substance.

Vanity Fair Hollywood Issue (with Jake Gyllenhaal, Olivia Wilde, etc.)

Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal in Vanity Fair: 2011 Hollywood, March 2011 Issue

“We wanted to evoke the glamour of 1930s Shanghai, an era of smoky, alluring elegance,” said VF fashion and style director Jessica Diehl. “We had the gentlemen looking dashing in black tie, whilst the ladies were radiant in spring’s gowns - from Gucci to Yves Saint Laurent - and glittering with diamonds from Chanel and other arbiters of glamour.”

Olivia Wilde & Norman Jean Roy Behind The Scenes of the 2011 Hollywood Issue Vanity Fair Photoshoot

Wilde, indeed!
"Olivia Wilde stands out among the dozen or so A-list up-and-comers on the cover of Vanity Fair's 17th annual Hollywood issue.
Alongside such stars as Jake Gyllenhaal, Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Lawrence, Ryan Reynolds and others, the sexy Tron actress, 26, wears a truly revealing gown -- with just two thin black bands of fabric covering up her breasts.
(Wilde is flanked by actors Anthony Mackie of The Adjustment Bureau and The Social Network's Jesse Eisenberg on her left.)
Wilde made sartorial waves last year for the skintight catsuit she wore in Tron.
"My costume is actually the toughest, most bada*s thing I've ever seen", she told Playboy. How tight was the futuristic getup? "It would be difficult to be a stripper in that suit because it's almost impossible to get it off...It would be a three-hour striptease and you’d need at least five assistants onstage with you". Natalie Portman thinks Jake Gyllenhaal is our generation's Cary Grant

"Natalie Portman has finally responded to Jake Gyllenhaal recently calling her the Audrey Hepburn of our generation at an awards show earlier this month.
Jake Gyllenhaal - 'Love & Other Drugs' Portrait

"Well, he’s the Cary Grant of our generation", Natalie told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson on Sunday at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, referring to Jake’s similarities to the legendary late actor, who starred in such films as 1955’s Hitchcock classic “To Catch A Thief” and 1944’s “None But The Lonely Heart,” for which he received an Oscar nomination.
“He’s so charismatic”, Natalie continued of Jake. “And so dapper and smart. He’s wonderful.”
While Natalie had compliments for Jake on Sunday night, she herself received yet more praise from her peers in the form of the SAG Award for Outstanding Actress, for her role as tortured ballerina Nina in “Black Swan.”

The event was another happy moment for the celebrated actress, but being pregnant with her first child meant she had to plan a few things out – like keeping food close by.
“My manager has my snacks. That’s the most important thing”, she laughed. “[I have] like cookies and apples slices and stuff like that ‘cause they never feed you at these things so… you know, babies gotta eat.” Source: www.accesshollywood.com
