"Nothing says ‘I Love You’ quite like the gift of music – and we’re guessing that’s what Jake Gyllenhaal had in mind when he forked out thousands on a one-of-a-kind guitar for Taylor Swift.
According to The Sun, the ‘Brokeback Mountain’ hunk dropped $11,000 on a rare Fender Gretsch instrument, signed by country music icon Chet Atkins, to make the country singer’s 21st birthday one to remember.
The hitmaker had reportedly spied it in a shop when the pair were out together in Nashville recently – and like the true gentleman he is, Jake snuck back and bought it for her!
A source told The Sun, "He spent the weekend in Nashville with her and she saw the guitar in a tiny store which a lot of A-list musicians use.
"Taylor drooled over it so Jake went back to the shop later and bought it for her.
"He was originally going to buy it just as a gift but it ended up being perfect for her birthday on Monday." Awww bless him! [UPDATE: The guitar story resulted in being false, according to Jake Gyllenhaal's reps and Gossip Cop, but I'm fan of vintage guitars, so I'd have liked this story to be true!]
Well, let’s hope his thoughtful pressie puts any suspicions to rest about his relationship with his ‘Love And Other Drugs’ co-star Anne Hathaway". Source: www.mtv.com.au

"We're like naked, awkwardly with this person in bed, now we have to sell love and attraction and chemistry... how do you sell that?" Jake wondered about filming with Anne. Hathaway interjected, "You just do it. You just get on with it."

Jake Gyllenhaal Golden Globe Nomination Portrait Session

Jake Gyllenhaal - 2011 Golden Globe Nomination Portrait Session on 14th December, 2010 in Hollywood

Johnny Depp walked away with a double nomination for his work in “Alice In Wonderland” and “The Tourist,” but what does “Love and Other Drugs” star Jake Gyllenhaal think about taking on a double dose of Johnny in the same category? Plus, which other stars and films got the nod — and who got snubbed? Source: www.accesshollywood.com

"Who's going to be Jake Gyllenhaal's date to the Globes? The actors laughs for a while before responding. "Dude, I didn't think I was getting nominated. It's going to be a long, slow burn for me. I'm not rushing into anything!" says Gyllenhaal, who's up for Love and Other Drugs -- and has been linked, of late, to singer Taylor Swift.
He's in Los Angeles and says he was home when he found out. "I was asleep. I didn't wake up. It was pretty unexpected. I got a call and then I checked my phone and I had 25 e-mails, and it was either disconcerting or exciting. In this case it was exciting", the actor tells USA TODAY's Donna Freydkin.
He earned an Oscar nomination for 2005's Brokeback Mountain. Does this time feel any different? "The last time I was nominated for an award like this, it was so overwhelming and I didn't know how to process it. I can see these things are rare and you never know when they're going to happen, so you have to soak it in and appreciate each moment," says Gyllenhaal. "Celebrating is a long, slow burn for me. I'm going to really soak this in. I'll be with my family and I'm excited for the holidays. I'm not going to deny any awesome feelings". Source: content.usatoday.com

Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal: fascinating couple of the year 2010

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel hold hands as they leave Bubby's Pie Pic Co. after having some brunch together, on 5th May 2010 in Tribeca, N.Y.

1. Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel: Sure, this couple has been dodging breakup rumors for over a year - Justin’s grandmother even said last year that "as far as we’re concerned, he’s always been single" - but they still seem to be going strong. Justin is know for his long, committed relationships—he dated Cameron Diaz for nearly four years, and supposedly Britney Spears for the same length—and seeing as he’s experienced his own heartbreak from infidelity (exhibit A: "Cry Me A River"), it seems somewhat unlikely that he would become a cheater himself. And Jessica’s certainly had her fair share of temptation - after all, she filmed Nailed with cutie Jake Gyllenhaal - but has never strayed. This couple’s commitment to each other is what makes them fascinating. They’ve been together since 2007, but who knows, maybe they’ll also fall victim to Justin’s four-year-relationship trend.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart greet each other at the premiere of "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" during the Los Angeles Film Festival at Nokia theatre on 24th June 2010

2. Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson: She’s the envy of nearly every teenage girl today, and probably even some adult women as well. He’s a lusted after English hearthrob. And although neither actor has officially confirmed they are exclusively dating, there’s been ample photographic evidence of their love. We hear that the next installment of Twilight will feature their characters Bella and Edward getting married, so perhaps wedding bells are not far off for the offscreen couple as well? If so, we would expect a super-private elopement, as the couple seems to value their privacy above everything else. Kristen Stewart: Robert Pattinson Is 'My Husband'
3. Chelsea Handler and 50 Cent: Their couple status may be un-officially confirmed, but that didn't stop Chelsea from be quite candid about her possible beau during a recent interview with Jay Leno. (The Tonight Show band also played Fifty’s "Candy Shop" during Chelsea’s entrance.) During the interview, Jay asked the comedienne how exactly to pronounce the rapper’s name ("Fifty or Fiddy?") and Chelsea responded, "I don’t know. I call him Curtis when we have sex." Apparently though, this was just a joke, as she later referred to him as a friend who hasn’t met her family yet. (She then joked that he couldn’t meet her family until he learned to swim.) We don't know what these two would see in each other, but, in any case, we'd love to see "Curtis" fix up Chelsea's BFF Jennifer Aniston with one of his rapper friends, so that they can double date in the new year.

4. Jay-Z and Beyonce: Not only are these two one of the most powerful couples of this year but certainly of the decade as well. Independently, with his record label and her concerts and endorsements, they are both at the top of the Forbes list (Beyoncé is ranked #2; Jay-Z #15), and when they join together as a couple, it easily puts the two of them on the top. Yet, despite their reclusive nature and insane gobs of money, they still seem relatively down to earth and are adored by their fans. You can’t help but love them. And we’re thinking that the next year will see the arrival of a little "Jayoncé" baby.
5. Ellen De Generes & Portia De Rossi: Portia’s recent book about her struggle with an eating disorder resulted in some public appearances: the most notable of which was on The View, where she rebuked Elisabeth Hassleback’s reasoning about the term "marriage". When Hassleback asked the actress if the word was more important than the rights, De Rossi eloquently stated that "No, of course the word isn’t more important than the rights," but "without the word, we don’t have equal rights." Ellen continues to be a hit success and a laugh-out-loud riot with her talk show, and according to Reuters.com, 39% of Americans chose De Generes as their top guest to have attend their holiday cocktail parties. We think this power couple is in it to win it. (And by it we mean an enduring flame of love, success, and happiness.)
Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal on 25th November 2010 in Brooklyn, NY

6. Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal: It’s only been about five weeks with these two, but, already, they've become one of the most talked about celebrity couples of late. Swift has never been shy when it comes to showing her affection (or disdain) for a man—she wrote songs about her devastating breakup with Joe Jonas, an apology ballad to Taylor Lautner, and an aggressive track aimed at a speculated affair with John Mayer. So no matter the outcome of this relationship—happy, sad, mutual ending—there’s likely to be a forthcoming single about Jake."A partygoer snitched to press that Taylor and Jake were “cuddly and so cute” and “obsessed” with one another. Prior to the big day, Taylor told press, "I want a Christmas-themed birthday, because I love Christmas as much as my birthday. Combining the two just seems like the perfect festivity." Source: celebrity-gossip.net

“Taylor is beaming and Jake has never been happier. They’re already dead set on moving in together and are talking about marriage, which is exciting for her because she has so many dreams about that fairytale ending,” a source explained. “Taylor is hoping he’ll pop the question. It could even be as early as next year.” “This romance was just so unexpected,” a source told Look magazine. “Jake has fallen hard. He feels like she’s The One. People are telling them to slow down because Taylor’s so young, but she has been a star for years so she’s very mature.” Source: www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk

10. Katy Perry and Russell Brand: She’s now officially Katy Perry Brand and, career-wise, she's never been hotter. Her newest album Teenage Dream went straight to the top upon its release, and she (and her boobs) have been making appearances all over prime-time television (SNL, Sesame Street, The Simpsons). And! These two just got hitched. On a recent appearance on the Paul O Grady Live Show, Katy said that she likens their marriage to the I Love Lucy Show, saying "I’m Lucy. And he’s Lucy. There’s a lot of Lucys." They are both a little odd—Katy once sported fake nails with photos on them of Russell's face - and just a few months before their marriage, Russell was arrested for kicking a paparazzo at LAX. Katy later posted on Twitter, "if you cross the line & try and put a lens up my dress, my fiancé will do his job & protect me." Russell may just have his work cut out for him now, as Katy’s popularity is surging, but his kookiness alone may be enough to keep the paparazzi at a manageable distance. Source: www.yourtango.com

"After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we've decided to end our marriage," they say in a joint statement. "We entered our relationship with love and it's with love and kindness we leave it. While privacy isn't expected, it's certainly appreciated."
According to a source, Johansson initiated the split. Reynolds, who is PEOPLE's Sexiest Man Alive, told PEOPLE that the best thing about married life was, "You get to hang out with your best buddy every day." Source: www.people.com
