Jake Gyllenhaal confirmed for all star tribute to Bruckheimer

"Details have emerged regarding next month’s star-studded “Cinematic Celebration of Jerry Bruckheimer, which is scheduled for May 17, and will coincide with the Hollywood premiere of the producer’s latest action adventure “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time,” starring Jake Gyllenhaal.

The films and artists confirmed to take part in the celebration are:

“Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” (2010) – Hollywood Premiere Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, 7:30 p.m.Talent from “Prince of Persia” and the other Bruckheimer films screening during the evening will walk the red carpet beginning at 6 p.m. “Prince of Persia” opens in theaters nationwide May 28, 2010.

“Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl” (2003)
El Capitan Theatre, 7 p.m.
Orlando Bloom, Jack Davenport, Jonathan Pryce and director Gore Verbinski will reunite to introduce the film that kicked off one of the most successful franchises in movie history, and a cultural phenomenon.

“Armageddon” (1998)
Mann Chinese 6, 7 p.m.
Bruce Willis and Michael Clarke Duncan will introduce this blockbuster film which raised the bar for action and visual effects.

“National Treasure” (2004)

Nicolas Cage, Jon Voight and Justin Bartha join director Jon Turteltaub to present Jerry Bruckheimer’s most recent franchise-launching motion picture, which helped to make American history exciting again to millions of people around the world.

The film’s director, Tony Scott, will introduce the smash hit that helped launch Tom Cruise’s career. Actor Tom Skerritt will also be on hand to celebrate this classic.

“Beverly Hills Cop” (1984)

Eddie Murphy will present the much-imitated but never improved upon action comedy that catapulted him to superstardom.
“Jerry Bruckheimer is one of the most prolific producers of our time, and Disney is thrilled to be a part of this event,” said Rich Ross, chairman of the Walt Disney Studios. “His history of success and collaboration with the Walt Disney Studios is unparalleled and in honor of Jerry’s accomplishments, Disney has established an endowed scholarship in his name at the AFI Conservatory.”

"Kristen Stewart has been approached to take over from Angelina Jolie in an upcoming Wanted sequel, according to reports.
Jolie starred as a deadly assassin in the first film, alongside Scottish actor James McAvoy, who recently revealed producers have been working on plans for a sequel.

The proposed follow-up was thrown into jeopardy after Jolie reportedly pulled out of the project, but movie bosses are now considering moving forward with another actress in the lead role.

Stewart is said to have been approached to play a young assassin, while McAvoy will reprise his role from the original 2008 film, according to E! Online.

“[I] never did anything this intensive before [to change my body]. It’s a physical role. And when I commit to playing a part, it’s 110 percent,” said the 29-year-old actor. “We worked really closely with David Belle, who invented Parkour. I worked with a lot of gymnasts. I started jumping off of a lot of things that were padded and learned the fundamental stuff, and then slowly started working on harder surfaces, really carefully. And I’d say, ‘OK, I’ll try it,’ and then I’d say, ‘OH GOD. OH, please.’ But then I’d get it, and we’d go a little further and a little longer and a little higher and just kept it up,” explained Gyllenhaal, who did many of his own stunts during filming, even scaring himself at some points. “It got a little bit dicey there near the end, when they saw that I liked doing things that were dangerous. I tried my hand at things that were pushing it a little bit. There was this big 35 foot jump that I did that got a little hairy.” So now that the movie’s wrapped, is it just a matter of time before the big guns disappear? "Jesse Eisenberg is a wise choice to play Sam Gold, a role that calls from his movement from the innocence of Eden to the evils of Sodom. He chalked up a similar role in "Solitary Man", which opens on the same day, there playing a nerdy college sophomore who is mentored by Michael Douglas's character in the ways to get around women. "Holy Rollers" takes place in 1998, with Eisenberg's role anchoring the picture as son of the owner (Mark Ivanir) of a wholesale fabric store, a boss who is not particularly interested in money but is very much concerned about doing the right thing by God. Like Piper Kerman, the principal character in the memoir "Orange is the New Black", a woman who is not aware that she has crossed the line into illegal money laundering, Sam is pulled step by step into the underworld, gaining a small fortune in a short time but losing his soul".
