Mischa Barton under psychiatric evaluation

"Mischa Barton, currently hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles under psychiatric evaluation, known as a 5150 hold, could be released as early as Saturday, or held longer, experts say"."A 5150 is considered a psychiatric emergency, when a person is deemed a danger to themselves, to others or is gravely disabled," explains L.A.-based psychiatrist Daniel B. Borenstein, M.D., who's not involved in the case. "A serious risk of suicide is a primary reason for the hold, as well as those suffering from severe depression or schizophrenia."

A person under a 5150 is typically held for three days, during which time the patient undergoes evaluation and receives treatment – although medication can't be forcibly given".

"I wish her all the best. First and foremost, we want her to get healthy again," Homecoming producer Austin Stark tells PEOPLE. "It's obvious we'd like her to support the movie and be here, but we hope she gets better."

And of shooting Homecoming with Barton in Pittsburgh, Stark says, "When she was on-set, she acted like a professional. I honestly had no complaints. She struck me as a nice young girl, she never said anything mean to anyone, and she wasn’t late on-set or anything like that."
Her rep declined to comment on the report of her going to a psych ward, but tells PEOPLE, "Mischa has been hospitalized per the recommendation of her doctor and is resting in the hospital". Source: www.juicyuk.com

"Mischa Barton's fame came about by accident in many ways, she recalls, as her path became altered by a fateful audition. "I was one of those kids who was willing to try other things, other careers, and go to college. I just happened to get cast on The OC, but I was never set on it." Her character would eventually die in a car crash, and the series itself crashed and burned 6 months later. Mischa Barton's success and popularity has segued into a movie career and has even turned the glamorous star into a fashion icon of sorts". Source: www.girl.com.au

-"Donnie Darko" is considered a cult film in the US, but were you disappointed in terms of your career that it didn't do better at the American box office?

-The truth is most of the films that make a lot of money no one remembers, and I'm not interested in making films that no one remembers. Whether it means they hated it so much they'll never forget it, or if it means they loved it so much that they won't. I'm less interested also in how it affects a career. The advice I've been given by a lot of people is: don't jump in too fast, do the things that you care about, and see what happens then.

An interview of Jake Gyllenhaal for his character on "Donnie Darko".

"Says Jake Gyllenhaal, who delved deep into the unsettling mind of Donnie Darko to take on the tour de force role, "Donnie's a teenager like a lot of teenagers who starts out completely unsure of where he fits in the world, or if he fits at all. But through an incredible experience he comes to truly understand who he really is and the effect he has on other people, which takes him on a fantastic journey through dreams, sadness, comedy and madness."

Sword-fighting Prince of Persia

"For Jake Gyllenhaal, playing Prince Dastan in Jerry Bruckheimer's epic Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, due May 28, 2010, was a chance to get into some serious action. (Paparazzi photos of Gyllenhaal on-set have appeared previously, but this is the first official shot of him in character.) "I'm tired of taking myself so seriously," says the actor, who found himself sword-fighting, climbing walls, and jumping off of buildings as part of the prince's quest to find an enchanted dagger and turn back time. "It's nice when a stuntman turns to you and is like, 'Actors don't normally do this.'"

Lindsay Lohan as Marilyn in Vogue Spain

"Aunt Sue was decked out in turbans, long false eyelashes, huge golden hoop earrings and the latest in plastic surgery until the day she died, at age 96 (she didn’t look a day over 70). She took glee in sharing Marilyn Monroe’s more intimate fashion tips. “After all, she was the sexiest woman who ever lived”, she told us.According to Aunt Sue, Marilyn wore everything one size too small, so that she would appear to be on the verge of bursting out of her clothes at any moment. Tight outfits gave Marilyn an aversion to underwear, because Visible Panty Line (VPL) is definitely NOT sexy. My aunt knew all this because Marilyn had very little confidence in her ability to dress herself and would often roll out of bed, then run down to my aunt’s wardrobe department, to be dressed in the appropriate attire for lunch with a studio executive or an interview with a journalist".

Mechner at Comic-Con for Prince of Persia

"I’ll be in San Diego next Friday for an 11:30 am Q&A panel about the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time graphic novel anthology I’m writing for Disney, with artists Todd McFarlane, Cameron Stewart, Bernard Chang, Tommy Lee Edwards, Josh Middleton, and Niko Henrichon, many of whom will be on the panel as well. (Check the Comic-Con schedule for updated details.)

It’s been a very cool project and one I’ve had a lot of fun doing. The book is a prequel to the movie (I use the word “prequel” advisedly, for those who think time is like a river that flows swift and sure in one direction), with each chapter drawn by a different artist in a different style. It’ll be published next April as part of the Prince of Persia movie pre-launch.

This is the second Prince of Persia graphic novel I’ve been involved with — the first, written by A.B. Sina and illustrated by LeUyen Pham and Alex Puvilland, was published last year by First Second Books — and they’re very different projects".

"Not to nit pick, but there has been some footage released from this movie and Jake Gyllen-I-have-the-greatest-six-pack-ever-haal is dressed as the Prince from the game's sequel, "Prince of Persia: Warrior Within." Why specifically call the movie "Sands of Time" and then dress him in the style of a different title? Just call the movie "Prince of Persia: We Didn't Play Any of the Games, But We Liked the Box-Cover Art and You Should Just Be Happy We're Making a Movie About Any of Them at All, Nerd." Natalie Portman, Thor's love interest

"Variety and The Hollywood Reporter confirm that Natalie Portman will star as the love interest in Marvel Comics' upcoming adaptation of Thor.

Chris Hemsworth has already been cast in the title role. Portman will play Jane Foster, a nurse who becomes Thor's first love interest early in the comic book series. The story involves Thor's banishment to the world of everyday humanity after he commits reckless actions in battle.

The movie is being directed by Kenneth Branagh, who is best known for his cinematic interpretations of Shakespeare. It is set to begin shooting early next year and is slated for a May 20, 2011 release.
Other upcoming Portman projects include Jim Sheridan's Brothers, starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Tobey Maguire; Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan; David Gordon Green's Your Highness; and the ensemble vehicle New York, I Love You".

Taciturn Pattinson, Gyllenhaal, Hirsch, Penn, Gosling, Gordon-Levitt

"Robert Pattinson and Emilie de Ravin filmed late into the night yesterday, sitting and talking on the steps of a brownstone in Brooklyn. The duo looked picture perfect as usual and Rob took the chance to sneak smokes between takes. Robert will be done shooting Remember Me soon and before he starts on Eclipse he's expected at Comic-Con in San Diego and the Teen Choice Awards in LA where he'll have costars — like yes, Kristen Stewart — by his side". "Burned Rain" poem

José Luis, my only true love (*crossing my fingers* forever).
Me, feeling native in my hometown Zaragoza's streets again.
(uggh, I hate my yellow teeth, I guess I should use white crests or something!)

I want to dedicate to all of you, weirdos, and José Luis, an old poem I wrote time ago and which was published in two of my local city literary university magazines: "Aquisgrán" and "Calibán" (based on la Isla de Calibán), this poem was attached to a short story titled "Terrestre". My three main tales that became a trilogy were: "Terrestre", "El Tubo de Braun" (with echoes of "Network") and "Ciudad Carrusel".

This poem is entitled: "LLUVIA QUEMADA" (its translation in English would be "Burned Rain"):

Allí no habrá despedida".

"Brothers": Oscar contender?

"Originally scheduled for release last fall, "Brothers" was pushed out of 2009 and there were rumors it was headed to this year's Cannes Film Festival. Needless to say, that didn't occur and the film finally found a December release date. It was also unclear who was releasing the Relativity Media financed film. MGM was supposedly original distributor, but Relativity quietly moved the film to Lionsgate where it has a new overall distribution deal. Lionsgate have some true creative mavens and as you can tell by the pretty poster below, "Brothers" is being positioned as a drama, not an in-your-face thriller as the embedded trailer suggests (or at least in its second half). The movie finds Natalie Portman as a young mother of two whose husband (Tobey Maguire) seemingly is lost in Afghanistan. During a period of mourning she becomes involved with his caring and sensitive brother (Jake Gyllenhaal). When Maguire's character is discovered alive, he comes home a changed man, jealous and suspicious of his wife's actions while he was gone. Maguire is refreshingly dark and manic as the type of on edge character we rarely see him play, but the preview doesn't do much to convince anyone Portman or Gyllenhaal are doing anything but the one-note mopeyness both have spent years perfecting. It also doesn't help that the trailer's second half has a forced thriller arc that seems out of place when compared to the picture's poster or the tone of the beginning of the preview. Note to Lionsgate: this trailer may have tested better than other versions, but it feels like you're selling the movie as something it's not and audiences will smell it a mile away. If it's a drama, sell it as a drama and hope the critic's fall your way". Source: www.hitfix.com
