"Reviewing The Runaways in The New York Times, A.O. Scott gushed: "Ms. Fanning, who has shown herself a remarkably disciplined and self-aware actress almost since toddlerhood, displays heartbreaking vulnerability as well as frightening poise." The Denver Post called her performance "uncorked."
One lasting friendship to emerge from the experience was with Kristen Stewart, the 20-year-old Twilight lead who played Joan Jett to Fanning's Currie. According to both young women, re-enacting the intimate friendship between Jett and Currie brought them close instantly, and a mutual respect has kept them that way. "Dakota is so unfaultingly steady," Stewart says. "In most cases, I feel like she's older than me. It's only when she starts talking about boys that I remember how young she is." The two, who briefly shared the screen in Twilight: New Moon, reunited in this summer's Eclipse, the third installment of the series, with Fanning reprising her role as a diminutive child vampire in a long cape and Mary Janes. Her character, Jane, can inflict pain with her thoughts, achieved while staring intently at her victims with eyes that appear reflector-red, thanks to a pair of color contacts. Given how much actors rely on their eyes to communicate emotion, the contacts were a handicap that might well have unsettled another, less confident performer. "It's something that's always been there for me, that I have huge blue eyes — it's been something that people have always talked about," Fanning says. "But I enjoyed the red. You're automatically transformed into a creature when you put those red eyes in." Fanning (who has been reading since she was 2) tore through the Twilight books after she was cast. "Lindsay Lohan was sentenced to 90 days in jail and 90 days in rehab for violating probation on Tuesday (July 6), and one person offering the actress his unconditional support is Matthew Wilder, who will direct Lohan in "Inferno," a biopic about '70s porn star Linda Lovelace.
"This is a sad chapter in the ongoing tragicomic circus between the tabloid media and the 'justice' system," Wilder wrote in a statement to MTV News. "An outrageously outsized sentence garners attention for all the players involved, but brings only sadness to the poor soul who has to serve it. I am 100% behind Lindsay and can say the same for everyone involved in the production of 'Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story.' Indeed, we are proud to have this remarkable artist work on our film. "Lindsay Lohan has reportedly hired a new lawyer, former O.J. attorney Robert Shapiro.

The celebrity website TMZ is reporting that Shapiro will try to convince Judge Marsha Revel to put Lohan in a rehab facility and either eliminate or minimize jail.

"Add another nail in the coffin of the long-delayed political satire/romantic comedy "Nailed", starring Jessica Biel and Jake Gyllenhaal, which THR has learned exclusively will be finished without the involvement of writer-director David O. Russell.
Russell has withdrawn from the $26 million production after one-on-one negotiations with financier Ronald Tutor, who controls rights to the movie with Pangea Media Group CEO David Bergstein, broke down.
David O. Russell The movie is about a small-town waitress who is shot in the head by a nail gun and later goes to Washington to fight for better health care; there, she meets a clueless congressman, and a romance develops.

"This has been a painful process for me," Russell told THR on Tuesday. "The multiple production delays and stoppages, which were caused by David Bergstein and preceded Ron Tutor's direct involvement with me, have now spanned two years, and the circumstances under which the film would now be completed are much different on several fundamental levels than when we embarked several years ago. In the 4 films (“Walking And Talking”, “Lovely And Amazing”, “Friends With Money” and “Please Give”) she’s made with Nicole Holofcener, she’s perfected the role of a New York intellectual suffering with liberal guilt and seething hostility. .

Initially her role as Steve Carrell’s love interest in the uber commercial hit “The 40 Year Old Virgin” appeared to be severe miscasting. Her style seemed better suited to the edgier indie worlds of Holofcenter, Steven Soderbergh, or, of course, Charlie Kaufman, than the raunchy boys club milieu of Judd Apatow, yet it was refreshing to see her having fun in a less stressed comic identity.
Keener’s Oscar nominated role as Harper Lee in “Capote” (2005) was also a bit of a change from her patented snarky persona. Although she played yet another divorcée, Keener’s acclaimed performance as Gertrude Baniszewski, a Indiana woman who tortured and murdered a teenage girl, was definitely a different stroke for the active actress.
So Keener keeps her indie cred although she often pops up in mainstream movies usually playing a hip single mother like she did in “Percy Jackson” and “Wild Things”. She’s got a healthy crop of films coming up including David O. Russell’s political romantic comedy “Nailed” in which she plays the fictitious Rep. Pam Hendrickson. It looks to be another welcome change of pace. Keener may not be an A-list star, but she’s a familiar face and name to movie lovers no matter the genre or budget of her films.
For nearly a decade she’s replaced Parker Posey as the queen of independent film, one who can survive the crossover and come back again to her home turf. As her reign continues here’s hoping she’ll aspire to do more with her crown". Source: www.examiner.com
