First Full Clip from Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
First Full Clip from Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is a adaptation of the 2003 video game of the same name. In this clip Jake Gyllenhaal does his best Parkour demonstration to get away from guards that are probably more incompetent than their counterparts in the video game.

"Of course, if there's an opportunity to do another one and people respond to it," Gyllenhaal told Reuters in an interview to promote the movie, when asked if he envisaged the film as part of a series.
"I don't think that's really on our mind. I think our mind is to get this one out. But of course, it would be an honor. If an audience asks for a sequel, then that's an honor," added the actor, who trained hard for demanding stunt and fight sequences.
The three "Pirates of the Caribbean" films to date, starring Johnny Depp, are a hard act to follow, having grossed $2.7 billion at the global box office.
Industry followers see an additional challenge in that big-screen adaptations of video games have struggled to meet expectations. Estimates of Prince of Persia's production budget range from $150-200 million.

"I know ... this will not appease all gamers, and I know there is a lot of skepticism about the translation of a video game to a movie, but I also feel excited that I think we've done something that's better than any of the translations that have come out thus far.
"These games haven't been given the respect they deserve in the movie world and I think (producer) Jerry (Bruckheimer) has done that and I think that we tried so hard to make it our own and at the same time stay true to the games.
"They (gamers) are tough, and I appreciate that. I come from a tough family. I don't mind tough critics."
In Prince of Persia Gyllenhaal plays Dastan, a boy adopted by King Sharaman who becomes embroiled in a quest to protect a magic dagger that can access the legendary Sands of Time, capable of turning back time.
Gyllenhaal said he looked back far into Hollywood history for inspiration.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt: Inception Dream Doc
INCEPTION is coming out soon, and in conjunction with its release, they're making a documentary on dreams. I suggested that hitRECord contribute to the project. See the collaboration page here http://www.hitrecord.org/records/78958 -- This is gonna be fucking awesome.
The documentarian directing it is a guy named Roko Belic. He and I recently sat down to discuss how we can best throw our flavor into the mix.
Largely, it seems he's looking for dreamy visuals for cutaways. He mentioned five archetypal dreams and asked us to create visual/graphic/animated/cinematic interpretations.
1. Inappropriate Dress
2. Teeth Falling Out
3. Flying
4. Being Chased
5. Falling
If you want to shoot a whole short film out of any of these dreams, that's great. But it's also great to contribute your brick in the larger wall. Draw a picture, take a photo, animate a moment. Source: www.hitrecord.org
World premiere of Eclipse in LA film festival
Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen in "Fame" comic book.
Hitting shelves at the end of May, "Fame: Robert Pattinson" is the latest in Bluewater Productions' popular line of bio-comics. The 32-page comic promises to "trace Pattinson's career from his first performance in Tess of the D'Urbervilles at London's Barnes Theatre to his star turn in the Twilight movies," and features a script by Kim Sherman and interior art by Nathaniel Ooten. New still of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in Twilight saga "Eclipse".
Next month, the Los Angeles Film Festival will likely welcome a new contingent: throngs of screaming girls.
The annual event, which announced its lineup on Tuesday, will feature the world-premiere screening of “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse”, the long-awaited third installment in the popular vampire franchise. It’s not exactly typical film festival fare, but organizers are hoping it will serve a larger purpose.“If we program a movie like ‘Twilight’ that draws audiences that might not otherwise attend film festivals, hopefully we’ll expose them to other cinematic experiences that we think are inspiring,” said festival director Rebecca Yeldham.
Still, fans eager to see “Eclipse” before it hits theaters in July will have to pay for the privilege. Only those festivalgoers who purchase one of the festival’s top-level passes — which range in cost from $500 to $1,000 — will get inside the Nokia Theatre on June 24. Source: www.eclipsemovie.org
The Release Date for Breaking Dawn is November 18th 2011!

"Jake Gyllenhaal sports all black as he leaves his West End hotel on Tuesday (May 4) in London, UK.
The 29-year-old actor is in London for the premiere of his new film Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. He recently talked about what drew him to this role as Prince Dastan. “On a personal front, it was something that was so unlikely to find myself doing. It was unlike anything I’d ever played. But when I talked to director Mike Newell about it, it wasn’t just a video game adaptation. It was a massive epic that he had in the works. They had a real classic story, that was emotional and real, and it was filled with massive turns and twists,” he told Manila Bulletin.
“Every day during filming you must keep in your mind where you are, how you got there and who fooled who,” Jake said. “It is like a Usual Suspects and that makes it intriguing to me. Also, if these movies are going to get done, they should be done by the best and Jerry Bruckheimer is the one to make them!” Source: justjared.buzznet.com
