Eddie Redmayne says "Kristen is magnetic" in The Yellow Handkerchief

SFBG: Going back to The Yellow Handkerchief, I wanted to ask for your opinion on why this unlikely trio forms. Obviously there’s some attraction on Gordy’s part when it comes to [Kristen Stewart's character] Martine, but what else is there that links them together?

Kristen Stewart plays Martine in "The Yellow Handkerchief".

ER: For me, the film is about chance, really. It’s about chance and circumstance. And what I love is, it hopefully feels like this is a story going on in the world that the camera stumbles across, travels with, and then lets go. It’s really about the truth of those moments in life that it is through moments of luck or passing or who you bump into on the street or whether, specifically in Yellow Handkerchief, a rain storm causes these people to end up in a car together for three days. It’s as simple a conceit as that. But I think it plays truthfully in its idiosyncrasies almost.
SFBG: Can you talk about developing chemistry with your co-stars, William Hurt and Kristen Stewart? How did you form that bond, both on-screen and off?
Eddie Redmayne and Kristen Stewart.

ER: Well, what was wonderful is, Kristen is magnetic and an incredibly wonderful person, very open and lovely, and we got on very well form the outset. William is someone I’ve admired for a long time and have worked with on The Good Shepherd, although I’d never acted with him. What was great is, firstly, we had two weeks rehearsal, which is rare on film and something that William insists on. So we got to know each other. But also, three of us sat in a car in the incredible heat in Louisiana, passing through these extraordinary landscapes. It’s a way to bond quite promptly, and so the chemistry built really through spending an intense, really quite intimate time together".

"James McAvoy signed on to star in the formerly titled "I'm With Cancer", a comedy co-starring Seth Rogen about a 25-year-old battling cancer. MTV News has exclusively learned that McAvoy has dropped out of the film after shooting began and that he has been replaced with Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Arthur in "Inception" (2010).

A source close to the production tells us that McAvoy dropped out this week for personal reasons and that producers have locked Gordon-Levitt to step into the role.
Rogen said in a statement: "It’s incredibly unfortunate that circumstances outside of everyone’s control have taken James away from the project, but, with James’s blessing, we were able to have Joseph step in to take on the [lead] role of Adam. We all look forward to working with James in the future."
McAvoy's role as the cancer-stricken twentysomething had been touted as the actor's first high-profile one following the success of 2008's "Wanted." The film is based on the true experiences of screenwriter Will Reiser, who successfully waged his own battle with cancer in his 20s. Rogen is producing with his writing partner Evan Goldberg. The movie co-stars Anna Kendrick and Bryce Dallas Howard.

"'I'm with Cancer' is a very personal story, about what happened to our friend for the most part," Rogen told MTV News last summer.

"So we didn’t really need much added insight into that. I was there with [Reiser] as he experienced a lot of it."

Robert got closer to Kristen in "Remember Me" premiere

Robert Pattinson at the premiere for new romance drama Remember Me opposite Lost star Emilie de Ravin

"While on the red carpet for his new movie, “Remember Me” Rob told Life & Style, “It’s nice”, when asked, “How do you feel about your girlfriend Kristen being here to support you?”
“Inside the theater, Rob rushed to sit down next to Kristen, who had been seated already. Kristen immediately asked him, ‘How was it?’—referring to his red carpet entrance and interviews. He shrugged and smiled.”

The two continued their affection as the night went on. “As the lights went down Kristen clapped along with the crowd. She leaned over to Rob and nuzzled her head into his neck. He leaned his head into hers. They looked quietly affectionate and at ease with one.

During various scenes in the movie, Rob gave Kristen a nudge shoulder to shoulder. It was a cute gesture, perhaps to show her how into her he is.”

“Throughout the movie, they each took sips from the same water bottle and they nuzzled into each other’s necks as they whispered and cuddled. It looked like they were kissing each other’s necks at different points in the movie—about six times. They definitely looked like a cute couple sharing quiet moments together.”

New ‘Remember Me’ TV Spot – “Moments”

"Robert was joined by actress Emilie de Ravin, as they both star in the upcoming romantic drama Remember Me. Robert called the film -- in which his character, a rebellious young man, finds a spark with a quirky girl played by Emilie -- reminiscent of '70s and '80s films like Ordinary People and Terms of Endearment, saying they don't make movies like that anymore.

Barbara compared Robert to James Dean, though James Dean probably didn't have to answer questions about a Details interview where he said "something about vaginas" (that would be his quote that he's "allergic to vaginas"). Robert explained that the lesson he learned was "never try to make jokes in interviews." That, or "never do interviews."

Different versions of "Alice in Wonderland"

Mia Wasikowska Covers Teen Vogue February 2010.Mia Wasikowska - Harper's Bazaar Australia

"Instead of Alice as a bored but clever child, we get Alice as a 19-year-old rebel and warrior, dispatching the monstrous Jabberwocky with a magic sword. Disney’s second rendering of Lewis Carroll’s fantasy, in other words, is a world apart from both its 1951 cartoon version and the original Victorian-era text.
Anne Hathaway and Tim Burton at Alice in Wonderland Ultimate Fan Event on 19th February) 2010 in Los Angeles.

Directed by Tim Burton, “Alice in Wonderland” a 3-D blend of live action and animation that opens Friday, is meant as a contemporary, subversive take on a cherished story.
With the 20-year-old Australian actress Mia Wasikowska, who had a breakout role in the first season of HBO’s “In Treatment” as Alice, it begins with an unwanted marriage proposal before veering off into Underland, where Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter and Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen await.Since “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” and its sequel, “Through the Looking-Glass,” were first published nearly 150 years ago, Alice’s tale has been retold in many versions and many media, including as a musical, anime, video game and more than a score of film and television adaptations. But for Mr. Burton the very abundance and familiarity of the material “in the subconscious and in the culture” was an incentive — not a deterrent — to take it on.“I’ve seen mostly everything, but there’s never been a version for me that particularly works, that I especially like or that blows me away,” he said this month in a telephone interview from Los Angeles. “It always ends up seeming like a clueless little girl wandering around with a bunch of weirdos. And the fact that there was no one definitive version was helpful. It’s not like the Disney cartoon was the greatest. So I didn’t feel that pressure to match or surpass.”
Johnny Depp and Tim Burton.

“I do feel it’s really important to depict strong-willed, empowered women,” she added, “because women and girls need role models, which is what art and characters are. Girls who are empowered have an opportunity to make their own choices, difficult choices, and set out on their own road.”
Mia Wasikowska and Anne Hathaway at Alice In Wonderland Royal World Premiere in London Feb 25, 2010.

“We’re not that concerned about being historically accurate in a film like this,” said Richard D. Zanuck, one of the movie’s producers. “It’s a piece of entertainment where you have a heroine off to another adventure at the end, and unless I’m wrong, people of all nationalities will just enjoy it as an entertainment and not try to interpret it.”

merican McGee's Alice, the Third Person Shooter computer game released in October 2000. Set years after Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass, Alice features an older, more cynical and macabre incarnation of Alice. Shortly after her second adventure, Alice's parents are killed in a fire of which she is the only survivor. Driven catatonic and having attempted suicide (as found in the case book), she is institutionalised in Rutledge Asylum. Years later, She is called by the White Rabbit to the aid of a radically altered Wonderland now under the despotic rule of the Queen of Hearts.

In the 1970s a pornographic “Alice” was also filmed, and more recently there was “American Magee’s Alice” a video game set that features a revenge-minded Alice confined to an insane asylum, with a second installment possibly due in 2011.

“What is really interesting about the recent versions is that they are all a little violent,” said Jan Susina, author of “The Place of Lewis Carroll in Children’s Literature” and a specialist in Victorian culture who teaches at Illinois State University, noting that the goth-and-gore singer Marilyn Manson also has a film project in the works in which he plans to play Carroll. “Since each generation and culture puts its own gloss on the story, that suggests something about our culture.”
