Jake Gyllenhaal won't voice the Prince in videogame

Prince Dastan killing a Sand Monster in the videogame.

"During a recent Ubisoft preview event, Michael McIntyre, director of level design for Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, talked to Joystiq about the new sequel to the old trilogy, establishing its connection to the Sands of Time game series and the Bruckheimer film.
Jake Gyllenhaal in Yahoo! - Prince of Persia: Behind The Scenes With Dastan

The Forgotten Sands is a side story, based in the Sands of Time universe, bridging the seven-year gap between the original Sands of Time game and its sequel, Warrior Within.
How long how has The Forgotten Sands been in development, and when was it decided it would be a continuation of The Sands of Time series?

The game's been in development for a year and a half now, and it was decided that it would be part of The Sands of Time franchise fairly early in development -- that it would be the same Prince, same universe.

ow exactly, then, will The Forgotten Sands connect with next year's film, if at all?

Basically, the film is telling the story of The Sands of Time trilogy, which Ubisoft made, and this game is a story that happens on the side of that. So, it's the same character.

Will Jake Gyllenhaal voice the Prince in the game?

No.

Michael Cera regrets not finishing Elvis' biography

Jack Black and Michael Cera discuss their new comedy “Year One.” Did the two of them crack up on the set all the time? Plus, when did Jack Black think he went too far with the gross-out comedy?
-What's your last meal?
-I don't know. Something with salsa on top.

-While you were a live, what did you spend the most money on?
-Drugs and coffins.

-What book do you most regret not finishing?
-Normally, I regret not starting books. But I do regret not finishing Elvis' biography -- I liked where it was going.

-What's the wildest thing you ever did?
-I can't remember. That was a long time ago.

-If you could come back and spy on someone who's still alive, who would it be and why?
-Probably Elvis. He's still around, right?

-Name one thing you're glad you'll never have to do again on Earth.
-Brush my teeth. If somebody had told me they were just going to rot away eventually anyway, I could have saved so much time.

-What is your proudest accomplishment?
-Finishing Charles Grodin's autobiography.

-What is your biggest regret?
-Remarrying my wife.

-When were you happiest?
-During the eight months when our divorce was active.

-What are people saying over your coffin?
-"It's too bad we never got a chance to ask him what Jack Black was like to work with."

-Are there any last words you'd like to share with the world?
-It's too hard to live on a planet where you're a monster for not being moved by Susan Boyle's performance".
"The first official picture from SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD, directed by Edgar Wright, is out. The film stars Michael Cera, Chris Evans, Brandon Routh, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Kieran Culkin. The movie is based on the graphic novel by Bryan Lee O’Malley, where Cera’s character has to defeat the seven ex-boyfriends of the girl of his dreams to win her heart. Joseph Gordon-Levitt - New Frontier video

"Soon we’ll have our new slick built-from-scratch website up and hitRECord will graduate from a home-spun hobby to a full fledged collaborative production company. And in January we’re setting up shop at the Sundance Film Festival’s New Frontier 2010.

We’ve come a long way since my brother and I first threw my little one-page website online. And even though our current incarnation is a bit rough around the edges, and even as slick as our new website will be come Sundance, I’m quite proud of a great many things we’ve made here so far..."

Us Weekly confirms Jake & Reese's break-up

"After nearly three years together, Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal called it quits in early December. "It broke his heart", an insider reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly.Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon out for a stroll in Rome, on 13th March 2009.

A source close to Gyllenhaal, 29, explains that the once-golden couple "fought constantly in the past few months," and that the relationship concluded over a series of phone calls.

Adds another source, "No one cheated. There was no drama."
Jake Gyllenhaal, director Gavin Hood and Reese Witherspoonat "Rendition" LA premiere, on 10th October, 2007, Beverly Hills.

After the pair met on the set of the film Rendition, their romance began in March 2007 -- when Witherspoon, now 33, was still smarting from her 2006 divorce from husband of seven years Ryan Phillippe, 35, with whom she has two children (Ava, 10, and Deacon, 6). Indeed, sources say that her divorce and her kids were the two driving factors in the split.
"She felt pressured to wed again but she wasn't ready," an insider says. "She couldn't give Jake enough and she got cold feet. Jake wanted all of her."

Some shared moments between Jake and Reese throughout their relationship:

Although Gyllenhaal moved into her $5 million home in June 2008, Witherspoon struggled to quell her doubts about his suitability as a stepfather and long-term partner. "She really worried that they didn't have enough in common," the pal says.

As a hands-on Mom, the "super-type A" actress also fretted over losing time with her kids to her boyfriend. "When she was giving all of her energy to Jake, she felt like she wasn't giving her kids enough," the source says.Jake Gyllenhaal with Reese's son Deacon, October 2008.

Not that Gyllenhaal didn't try with Ava and Deacon, the insider points out: "He was great with the kids, but she felt like he didn't get the whole scope of what that entailed."

Heath Ledger, Lily Cole's love interest in Dr. Parnassus

Heath Ledger and Lily Cole as Tony and Valentine in "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" (2009).

"Over time I started to absorb what I was doing and who I was working with", she told the Huffington Post about landing the role of the female lead, Valentina. "It was a really, really amazing team to have been asked to be a part of."
That team included the famously trippy Gilliam (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Brazil) and screen legend Christopher Plummer, who plays Cole's 1,000-year-old magician father fighting to save her from the Devil--a delightfully sinister Tom Waits. And most famously, Heath Ledger, who played Cole's love interest in his last big-screen appearance and died while they were shooting."There was this huge void", said Cole. "There was this very energetic person and force that was there previously that was now gone. Everyone really, really loved him." Source: www.huffingtonpost.com

"And the first time we see Heath in the movie, he is hanging from a noose. That was disturbing for me, considering he died during the filming of this movie. I found myself really mourning the fact that he’s dead throughout the movie. Why? Because Heath Ledger really was an amazing actor. In Dr. Parnassus – it was evident that he really was a phenomenal actor, who’s talent surpassed any of his peers. It’s such a tragedy that he’s no longer with us, because he was a genius. His final performance in Dr. Parnassus reflects this. He was brilliant. He was able to film majority of the film, until he passed – and his role was turned over to his good friends Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell. Which in my opinion didn’t really disrupt the film at all (as I had thought going into it). Johnny, Jude and Colin each had a 5 minute (at most) scene in the film – which occurs only when Heath’s character steps into Dr. Parnassus’ “imaginarium”. It is a strange movie, but after I left the theater, I started to put it all together, and it made sense. It was really a very beautiful, moving movie. If you’re a fan of Terry Gilliam you will absolutely ADORE this movie. If you’re a fan of Heath Ledger, you need to see this, his final film. I will say this movie will not be loved by all, but I loved it. It was a great piece of art, a wonderful step into Terry Gilliam’s strange world. I loved seeing Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell join the movie, even if briefly. (I could have used a whole lot more of Johnny Depp! He was absolutely GENIUS as always!) The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus comes out on Christmas Day.
Go see it!
