Forgotten Sands Prince looks like Jake

"Which leads to the natural inquiry, inspired by actor Jake Gyllenhaal's recent appearance on TV: Does Haggis have any Steelers tattoos, real or fake? A betting grid for Thursday's Steelers-Browns game, $5 a block, was posted by the stage door.

No, although he does have some Steelers paraphernalia. "I love baseball. I took my son to a Pirate game. I'm a fan of the Pirates. I don't care if they win or lose."

VGA Exclusives! The prince returns for his next adventure! Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands Exclusive Debut Trailer.

"Set for release in May of 2010 (the film - The Sands of Time - will be released in the same month) the new game will be called The Forgotten Sands.
What's more, the prince in the game does boast something of a Jake Gyllenhaal likeness, while the title seems to dispense with the watercolour vibe present in the previous title's visuals.

If this initial footage is anything to go by, the new game will sport the game-rewind mechanic, to help the Prince out in tricky spots".

Gyllenhaal & Hirsch: geeks in search of romance

Jake Gyllenhaal has been chosen one of the sexiest men alive #3 in People Magazine, November 2009.

"First, he starred in John Madden's Proof, playing a math geek romantically interested in reclusive and possibly unbalanced Gwyneth Paltrow. Next came Sam Mendes' Jarhead, in which Gyllenhaal stars as Tony Swofford, a young man who discovers the First Gulf War isn't everything he expected it to be".

"Jake Gyllenhaal, who became an indie darling after starring in the quirky DONNIE DARKO, is still probably best known to mainstream folks as the guy who almost was SPIDER-MAN. When Tobey Maquire's back injury after the first Spider-Man film threatened his ability to appear in the highly lucrative sequel, Gyllenhaal's name was most often mentioned as his possible replacement". "Donnie Darko is a simple, oft-told story — a defiant, bright teenage boy trying to make his place in an unsympathetic world run by rules he struggles to comprehend, and on his journey he finds strength through the tragic love of the only girl who understands him. [...] Jake Gyllenhaal — who may be a long-lost brother of Tobey Maguire — stepped in". Source: www.dvdjournal.com

"Emile Hirsch stars in The Girl Next Door as Matthew Kidman, an overachiever in Westport, Conn., who's managed to win entry to Georgetown University, thanks to being class president and yearbook editor. Matthew simply doesn't fit in, and he spends most of his time with his pals Eli (Chris Marquette) and Klitz (Paul Dano), who are equally geeky —" "Elisha Cuthbert is equally archetypal as the object of Matthew's insistent romance, not only because of her natural beauty, but because she encapsulates the ideal adolescent girlfriend — in every scene she's thoughtful, funny, and challenging, always coming across as the sort of mature, sophisticated female puzzle that every young man feels compelled to decipher". "From combat boots and spectator loafers, to plaid button-front shirts and tweed pants, the Emile Hirsch GQ Style spread shows the ‘Alpha Dog’ and ‘The Girl Next Door’ actor in a range of characters that include, among others, the rebel hipster and quirky geek." Source: www.trendhunter.com

Leonardo DiCaprio: Shutter Island review

Leonardo DiCario is Teddy Daniels in "Shutter Island" (2010).

"It is a crime that SHUTTER ISLAND isn’t in the Awards race this year, as I feel it would most likely run off with the top honor and Best Actor for Leonardo DiCaprio – and I’m someone that isn’t always in Leo’s corner. This is not only his best work for Scorsese, but his best role to date. And the Doctors? Jesus. When you have Ben Kingsley running the loony bin and Max Von Sydow as a possible Nazi experimenter… and then you add to it the idea that this whole island could be an experiment from the CIA to test things that the Nazis were working on, that the Soviets are currently working on – and this is the hush hush – place where the already criminally insane bat nuts whack jobs are locked up.The whole film evokes at the beginning that quiet unsettling normality that I love out of Douglas Sirk’s world… but as the film moves on it begins to conjure comparisons to the work of Hitchcock, Sam Fuller and Fritz Lang. There’s something wrong and off about everything on the island. The doctors are definitely up to something – and it seems as though everyone from the guards to the orderlies… well, they are all in on whatever it could be.
The film has the pretense that it is a mystery. DiCaprio and Ruffalo are there to find her, but there’s zero clues. Everyone claims they were at their posts and that she apparently just evaporated. Then there’s the reason Leo wanted to get to the island, which involves Jackie Earle Haley’s George Noyce (Nightmares man, freakiest fuck I’ve seen on film in a while!)The surrealistic dream imagery and possible drug dosing imagery is some of the most inspired, beautiful, haunting imagery from Scorsese’s entire career. This is a triumph of filmmaking. The surrealistic dream imagery and possible drug dosing imagery is some of the most inspired, beautiful, haunting imagery from Scorsese’s entire career. “The Guardians” reimagines five popular childhood heroes — Santa, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, the Sandman and Jack Frost — as members of an elite superhero squad who join forces to fight an evil spirit named Pitch.”DiCaprio will be the voice of Jack Frost while Natalie Portman will play the Tooth Fairy". Natalie Portman and Joseph Gordon-Levitt in "Hesher"

Natalie Portman and Joseph Gordon-Levitt in "Hesher" (2010).

"TJ Forney is 13-years-old. Two months ago his mother was killed in an accident, so he and his broken dad, Paul, move in with TJ's grandmother to pick up the pieces.

Hesher is a loner. He hates the world and everyone in it. He has long greasy hair, a baby moustache, a Metallica t-shirt and homemade tattoos. He is malnourished and smokes a lot of cigarettes. He likes to get into fights, start fires and blow things up. He lives in his van...until he meets TJ.
"Hesher" is the story of a family struggling to deal with a loss and the anarchist head banger who helps them do it". Source: www.aceshowbiz.com

Gyllenhaal is a damaged charmer in "Brothers"

Movie clip for BROTHERS. 'Really Dead'. With Jake Gyllenhaal, Natalie Portman & Tobey Maguire.

"Maguire shines in the work's meatiest role, devolving from staid to explosive, and Gyllenhaal is perfectly cast as a damaged charmer.
Sheridan and his fantastic cinematographer (Frederick Elms) have created an understated yet stunning film, utilizing gorgeous wide-angle shots of American winterscapes and sunset Afghani caves to provide a balm to the action's weightiness. Dense, intelligent and moving, Brothers is one of the year's best films". Source: exclaim.ca

"David Lynch, who works the front desk at La Fonda, was particularly excited to see Brothers open last weekend. He had the pleasure of driving star Jake Gyllenhaal and his assistant Megan Milner around Santa Fe during the movie's filming. He also can be seen as an Al Qaida fighter in the movie. He's the one whose foot is shot off in the scene where Tobey Maguire is being rescued. You can see Lynch next in Love Ranch, starring Helen Mirren (Lynch is in a Thanksgiving scene with the Oscar winner)". Source: www.santafenewmexican.com
