Pattinson: Vampire Victory & Remember me
Vampire Victory video: The latest "Twilight" movie, "New Moon" has risen to third place in the biggest opening weekends ever. Nancy Cordes has more on the film's sudden success.
Stills of Robert Pattinson and Emilie de Ravin in "Remember me" (2010).
"The film centers around a pair of star-crossed lovers (sound familiar?) dealing with their own family tragedies. The trailer opens on Tyler (Rob) trying to break up a street fight, ultimately leading to his arrest and a bloodied face (which explains all those paparazzi shots of a worse-for-the-wear Rob strolling through New York City). When Tyler's father Charles, played by Pierce Brosnan, comes to bail him out, it's clear there's no love lost between father and son. "You could do worse than a father who bails you out of jail," Charles says. "I don't want to be bailed out of anything," Tyler shoots back. But Tyler clearly wants—and needs—to be bailed out of his troubled life when in walks the daughter of the cop who arrested him, played by "Lost" actress Emilie de Ravin.Emilie's Ally and Tyler begin a love affair, but we know what happens when RPattz's characters date cops' daughters—there are always complications."Remember Me" is familiar emotional terrain for Rob. His depressed, slightly misfitish Tyler is most equatable with his loner musician character Art in 2008's "How To Be", but it's hard not to see glimmers of Edward Cullen as well, especially in a cafeteria/lounge scene when Tyler meets Ally for the first time. I, for one, however am excited to see Rob drop Edward's perfect mantle and inhabit a romantic lead that is truly relatable—sparkling not included". Source: hollywoodcrush.mtv.com

"Natalie Portman tribute time. “What can i say, I adore Natalie Portman and so does everyone who has ever worked with her,” said Jim Sheridan as he awkwardly introduced Portman. First off, though, we get a clip show gives us expectedly big doses of “The Professional,” “Closer,” “Garden State,” and “Beautiful Girls.” “Star Wars” is thankfully missing in action". Taylor Lautner will host SNL
Scene from "New Moon" (2009) starring Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner as Bella and Jacob.
"Us Magazine reports that New Moon hunk Taylor Lautner will be testing out his comedic chops on December 12, as the host of Saturday Night Live. (Apparently, SNL's attempts to woo Lautner's co-star, Robert Pattinson, have so far fallen flat.)The questions abound: Do you think Lautner has the sense of humor to pull off the gig? Do you think T-Laut will spoof his classic The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D? Perhaps most importantly, how many skits do you think will require Taylor to doff his shirt? "-I was fascinated to hear you talking at this film’s press conference that you don’t own a computer. How does that affect your preparation for a role?Sam Rockwell plays James Reston Jr. in "Frost/Nixon" (2008).
-I could definitely use the benefit of a computer for research. For Frost/Nixon I really could have used some of that. But I read, and I watched the news, and I went to D.C., listened to all the tapes and stuff. But maybe it’s good because my character was existing in the ’70s. I’m thinking about getting one, but I’ve resisted the urge so far. It’s might be too much for me to handle right now. There’s a lot on my plate.Sam Rockwell with Duncan Jones shooting "Moon" (2009).
-Do you think that philosophy informed your character’s relationship with technology in Moon?
-It’s possible. My relationship with technology and robots comes from all the science-fiction movies that I’ve seen. That is a very grass-roots sort of guy; a very blue-collar guy. But I played a computer genius in Charlie’s Angels. I don’t know. At some point I’m going to have to pick it up." Source: www.movieline.com
"Duncan Jones might be pinned down to the sci-fi genre from Moon on onwards. After being attached to a finger-full of projects since his Sundance launch pad, the helmer has signed onto direct the 2007 Black List script (high on that list and tops on ScriptShadow's recent poll) with Jake Gyllenhaal in the running to topline the pic. Originally written by Ben Ripley, Source Code got a revision from Billy Ray (this writer-director has his DNA on tons of screenplays) and it basically looks at an experimental government program set up to investigate a terrorist incident, when a soldier wakes up in the body of an unknown commuter and is forced to live and relive a harrowing train bombing until he can determine who is responsible for it. In short we are looking at Groundhog Day in space". Source: www.ioncinema.com

"Kirsten Dunst, Ryan Gosling, Frank Langella, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Kristen Wiig star in this set in the 80's tale out of NYC. Gosling's character is "the son of a powerful real estate tycoon marries a beautiful working class student, Katie (Dunst). Together they flee the city for idyllic country life in Vermont - only to be lured back by David’s father. Upon their return, Katie goes back to medical school and begins to make a life for herself. But as Katie becomes increasingly independent, David mysteriously turns more violent and controlling." Source: www.ioncinema.com

Maguire & Gyllenhaal: rare passion on "Brothers" scenes
"Natalie Portman has revealed that she felt very comfortable working with Tobey Maguire and Jake Gyllenhaal. The Oscar-nominated actress, who co-stars alongside Maguire and Gyllenhaal in the drama Brothers, has said that the chemistry between the three actors on set came naturally after years of knowing each other, Coming Soon reports. The 28-year-old said: "It was actually really exciting because this is the first time I've ever worked with actors that I knew before. I met Tobey when I was 14, I met Jake when I was 18, so there was a level of familiarity from the first day, which was really a nice way to enter into it.
"We also had a nice rehearsal period for a few weeks before we started, where we got to go over each other's houses and talk about it and try things out". Source: www.digitalspy.co.uk
Tobey Maguire plays an unhinged war veteran, Capt. Sam Cahill in "Brothers".
"Scenes between Maguire and Gyllenhaal emotionally detonate with a rare passion and intensity on screen. But which unfortunately render the scenes of military conflict artificial and unconvincing in comparison. Jim Sheridan (center) and Jake Gyllenhaal 'Brothers' N.Y. Film Premiere Cocktail Party, on 21st November 2009.
It's as if Irish director Jim Sheridan may have been more subjectively focused on personal trauma of his own related to the history of terrorism back in his homeland than a determined scrutiny of the Afghan resistance, which plays out as exaggerated caricatures with no basis in logic or reality connected to current events. The result is a compassionate crafting of lost and found families in wartime, but a seemingly self-censored scenario with the US military establishment and its combat rationale as the troubling invisible elephant in the room. This, while foot soldiers and insurgents alike are set up as the fall guys for precipitating the horrors of war and its psychological scars, not the institutions destroying human beings in the first place, by cultivating in men the concerted impulse to legally engage in murder".
