The 34-year-old actor recently learned about the mounting nursing home bills for Millvina Dean, the last survivor of the sinking of the Titanic, and joined together with his co-star and the director of the top-grossing film Titanic to make a “considerable donation” to her care. Leo, Kate Winslet, and James Cameron have all contributed to a fund established for Dean, 98, who had been selling her autograph to make ends meet, the Independent reports".

"I was like, 'Why? He's not a pro baseball player. He's a vampire.' I just didn't understand it. And so I kept fighting everyone the whole time. I was like, 'He can be crap. He doesn't even need to be able to play. He doesn't even need a bat.'

Terry Gilliams talks about Dr. Parnassus
"And after the death of his star Heath Ledger last year, Gilliam came very close to giving up on his latest film, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. A lesser man would have crumbled into retirement by now. So what is Gilliam’s secret? 
“We were devastated,” Gilliam says. “We spent the whole day — Amy, Nicola Pecorini, the director of photography, and myself — lying flat on the floor. He’s dead, and you don’t quite get over that". 
Gilliam’s initial reaction to the news was that he would have to call a permanent halt to the production. “I thought, ‘There’s no way I can make this film without Heath’.”
“Ideas are floating around. Then finally we decided, ‘OK, let’s get three other people to take over the part’. And we were lucky because we have a magic mirror in this movie. Not every movie has a magic mirror. So you can very genuinely say that these other actors are different aspects of the character that Heath plays. And it works. The point was, we’ve got to keep going. It was a bit like half being there, but apparently on autopilot I can still do a few things.”In casting the actors who would step into the role, Gilliam says that a key considerations was that they had to have been close friends of Ledger.
Fortunately, Ledger’s friends included Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law, names that no doubt helped to persuade the film’s financiers that Doctor Parnassus was still viable. 
He has no doubt that Ledger fully deserved the Oscar for his chilling portrayal of the Joker in The Dark Knight. “But wouldn’t it have been nice if they had noticed before? Even before Brokeback Mountain he was doing brilliant work. Everything he has done has been solid, even the earlier silly things. I first saw him in The Four Feathers and he just takes over the screen. He was what, 21 years old?”The planned release date for Doctor Parnassus is in the autumn. “We want to be in that last third for the Academy Awards! Maybe we’ll get another award for Heath. We’re going to get as many awards as possible for him, long after he’s gone.”

"-Yeah, for a few days after that my skin was really just in pain. Especially under my armpits because I guess they hey put this gold powder on which is kind of this metal base. So, it was really sharp. Wiping it off was like sandpaper. It was just crazy. And then like your armpits all day are sort of like this (holding up his arm). And the were on fire for like a week after. I couldn’t lift my arm higher than this or it was excruciating.-Why are you painted in gold?
-Kyle Glass paints me gold in the movie. He plays an Eunuch in the movie paints me gold to be a gold statue. I heard you use compulsory to the slave driver in the scene…
-Compare Jack’s style to say Jonah Hill’s. How are they similar or different?
-Um, I dunno. I mean. Different approaches I guess. I think Jack really studies the script and really knows it. If a new scene comes up every day, I think he really just knows it. I think he’s spent time with the script whereas Jonah plans on kind of working on his feet, his toes. I think that’s kind of a major difference.
-Similarities?

-Yeah, it’s fun. This isn’t my main wig. In the second have of the movie they cut my hair, but I normally have a long wig and it was custom made and looks just like my hairline. It’s really insane. It’s weird when you catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror and forget you’re wearing it. What’s been your favorite scene so far?
-Uh, I dunno. Any of the scenes where Jack has a big speech are always kind of fun. I can just stand there and watch him go. He’s really great with those great, epic speeches. There are a lot of those in the movie that he makes. -Is there a lot of physical humor I the movie?
-Kind of. Would you call body paint physical humor? There’s not too much falling down. There is a cougar that attacks us. Jack falls down a few times. I fall down a cliff. So, yeah, it’s all funny I guess. We heard the cougar went through the torture scene?
-I just kind of stand there while me and Jack are kind of in the middle of it while it happens. It’s a funny scene. Which of the guys in this movie would you consider to be your heroes growing up? Your comedy heroes?
-Well, “Ghostbusters” is kind of the reason I wanted to be an actor. When I was four I really liked “Ghostbusters” and wanted to act from a young age because of that.
-So, it’s great working with David Cross who also loves “Ghostbusters.” Um, it was really amazing getting to listen to Harold all day.

Anton Yelchin is Kyle Reese
"Anton Yelchin is on the brink of stardom and featured in the pages of VMAN magazine’s actor portfolio for its summer 2009 issue, on stands May 14.The 20-year-old actor is set to be featured in what’s sure to be two of the summer’s biggest blockbusters. In Star Trek, he plays young Russian space cadet Pavel Chekov.
In Terminator Salvation, he steps into the role of Kyle Reese, a character who is both the father and protégé of future-savior-of-humanity John Connor (Christian Bale).
“I hope these movies do well,” he frets. “They cost a s***-ton of money.”
Anton observes, “The opportunity to be an actor is the opportunity to experience so many things. You’re selling yourself short if you don’t don’t try as many characters as possible.”
