Heath Ledger got an Oscar Nomination
"On the first anniversary of his death, Heath Ledger received an Oscar nomination.
The Dark Knight star is up for Best Supporting Actor, alongside Josh Brolin (Milk), Robert Downey Jr. (Tropic Thunder); Phillip Seymour Hoffman (Doubt) and Michael Shannon (Revolutionary Road).
Ledger himself also thought the role was worthy of awards.
"The minute Heath started doing make-up and wardrobe tests, we realized it was going to be something really special", Dark Knight producer Emma Thomas recently told Entertainment Weekly. "I remember doing a fitting where he put on that pink nurse's dress and he had the Joker's socks on and it changed the way he moved completely. Right from the beginning, people were talking about this as an Oscar-worthy performance."
Said friend Nicola Pecorini: "We joked about [an Oscar nomination]. Heath used to say, ''This time I'm going to give them such a hard time — they'll have to cry to get an interview.'' He knew he'd done something special. But he was saying, 'This time I’m going to lead the dance.'"
Ledger -- who also got a lead acting Oscar nod for 2006's Brokeback Mountain -- has been nominated at every major awards show this year for his role as the Joker. He won a Golden Globe earlier this month.
"It's fantastic", costar Aaron Eckhart told Usmagazine.com after his win. It's wonderful. I couldn't be happier!"

Walk in my shoes
"Fugit almost didn't get the part because Crowe's office lost his audition tape"."I was wearing Adidas shoes like Bruce Lee used to wear and really, extraordinarily tight jeans, and corduroy bellbottoms". Source: splicedwire.com
In "Donnie Darko", the title character played by Jake Gyllenhaal can be seen wearing a pair of black 1970's style Adidas.
"The 28-year-old actor wore clothes from all the different sporting brands! Jake wore Adidas sleeveless tee, Nike athletic shorts and New Balance sneakers. He even covered up his mane of hair with an Adidas beanie!" Source: Jutjared.buzznet.com
Athletic Shoes
The term "athletic shoes" is a very common and general term for footwear specifically designed for athletic and physical activity. They are they complete opposite of dress shoes, as they are meant to cushion and support the foot during activity that requires constant movement on one's feet.
"Athletic shoes" is a very broad term but they can also be called:
* Tennis shoes
* Running shoes
* Gym shoes
* Sneakers
Some athletic shoe manufacturers are:
* Nike
* Adidas
* Converse
* Pony
* Puma
* New Balance
* Asics
* Reebok
* Filawe
Adidas shoes
Since he first equipped a pair of canvas trainers with spikes in 1920, Adolph "Adi" Dassler, founder of adidas, developed a reputation for cutting-edge designs and his groundbreaking use of new materials and creative ideas in the pursuit of making the best possible track shoes. His reputation would soon extend to making the best sport-specific shoes for other sports as well.
As the 20th century progressed, adidas footwear became a pop culture icon sported by superstars from Muhammad Ali to David Beckham and was name-checked in hit songs by Run DMC and Korn.
Discount athletic shoes are shoes whose original selling prices have been reduced by a certain percentage and are now for sale to the public in a store, on the internet or by auction. Instead of paying ninety dollars for a pair of running shoes from the Nike store, a customer can get the same shoe at an online discount store such as SHOEBACCA.com for a fraction of its original price.
Large shoe manufacturers such as Nike, Puma, New Balance and Asics will often discount their merchandise to make room for new inventory. Often times they will ship the off season shoes to closeout stores such as Nordstrom's Rack in order to make room in their inventory.

Hypothetical Development
"Michael Cera got non-committal in Sundance talking to MTV News about the "Arrested Development" movie, to which every actor has committed, including narrator/producer Ron Howard".
"Speaking to MTV News to promote his Sundance film "Paper Heart" Cera refuted the rumors, saying that he's merely waiting for a script. But that may be a long time coming, claims the actor, labeling the film as "more hypothetical than people think."
