Donnie Darko Sequel
UK-based sales company Velvet Octopus will be launching sales in Cannes for S. Darko, billed as the sequel to the 2001 cult hit Donnie Darko. Fox has already taken North American rights.
Daviegh Chase reprises her role as Donnie's younger sister. The cast for S. Darko also includes Ed Westwick (Son Of Rambow, Gossip Girl), Briana Evigan (Step Up 2) and Justin Chatwin (Dragon Ball).
Ash Shah's Silver Nitrate and Newmarket Capital are producing. Los Angeles-based Chris Fisher, who previously made Nightstalker and Rampage: The Hillside Strangler Murders, will direct. The budget is pegged around $10m.
The story picks up seven years after the first film (and Donnie's death) when little sister Samantha Darko and her best friend Corey are now 18 and on a roadtrip to Los Angeles when they are plagued by bizarre visions.
Fisher said in a statement: "I am a great admirer of Richard Kelly's film and hope to create a similar world of blurred fantasy and reality."
Producers have spoken to Richard Kelly about the project but he is not involved in any official capacity at this stage.
Simon Crowe of Velvet Octopus added: "I think there is a new generation of cinema-goers who will be very excited to see this film."
Crowe quipped to ScreenDaily: "Donnie's not in [the new film] but there are meteorites and rabbits." Source: www.screendaily.com
"Hordes of emo-tastic children born in the '90's will be vowing to pierce the hearts of whomever gets behind the project. We know that former lead, Jake Gyllenhaal will not be returning, but actress Daviegh Chase will reprise her role as Donnie's younger sister. Woo.
Jena Malone isn't going to be returning either, but instead we'llget a chance to see a little more of Briana Evigan, who (make
fun of me if you like) has some potential for going on to a successful hottie career. So what if her introduction to audiences was in STEP UP 2: THE STREETS? The girl is FINE. And as we all well know, sometimes a good looking woman can make an unanticipated disaster a little less agonizing".

Happy belated B-day to Clark Duke!
More bizarre pearls by Clark and Michael in their show:
-"It's just blatant disrespect, and it's tacky. I guess I'm not used to it because I was raised like a gentleman [throws cup] Like a classy gentleman" -Clark.
-"I notice you've been saying amigo a lot, that's very spanish of you" -Michael.
-"This is that weird time a day when nothin's on...TV...It's just like animal shows"
-"How can you go wrong... on The Internet?
-Clark: This is hard to say, but you've gotta get your act together!
-Michael: I'm going out!
-Clark: Well when are you coming back?!
-Michael: NEVER! (slams door).

Arrested Development happening
-Except Franklin [Will Arnett's racist puppet], right?
-[laughs] Maybe not. I think Franklin was thrown away by Fox executives.
-Who do you see most often from the cast?
-Sadly, I don't see everyone that often. I see Michael Cera every now and again, but he's famous now so he doesn't want to talk to me.
-He doesn't pick up your calls anymore?
-No, not as much. It's fine. I'm handling it well. [Laughs.] I'm kidding! -I saw David Cross once when I moved to NYC five months ago. He was really great when I called him and I think he was really proud that I moved to New York. My entire life is to make David Cross proud of me, though. David Cross with Sarah Silverman.

-They're just trying to keep the flame burning. Speaking of which, Gaydar has done interviews with some of your former castmates.
-Who?
-Jeffrey Tambor and Michael Cera.
-Will Arnett: I've never heard of either of them. They were on the show?
[...]-Sounds like a new high for you. Speaking of high points and low points, I saw in an interview that you said Arrested Development was the best pilot you've ever been in. That makes me wonder, what's the worst?
-I remember there was something really snarky I said in that quote. Something to the effect of: "And I want every other pilot I've been in to know that." Source: www.radaronline.com
-What did you think when you found out that your character on Arrested would fall in love with his cousin?
-I was actually really excited that I would get to have something strange to play off. That was awesome to me.
Source: www.radaronline.com
-When you were first reading the script, it said that you kissed your cousin right?
-Right. It's made very clear.
-What did you think of that?
-It was interesting, and obviously when you're reading the pilot you don't know how long that storyline will be sustained for. But I was really excited when they kept the crush going for so long and they kept drawing the incest joke out. That's the most fun thing to do. It's insanely awkward. And she knows it's awkward and I know it's awkward, and I have to hide it from my dad. It was so much fun to do.

"The first trailer for Rainn Wilson's The Rocker has debuted. "Office" fans are definitely going to enjoy this. The movie is about a drummer from a failed 80's band that joins a high school band to live his dreams of becoming a rock superstar. It stars Rainn Wilson as Robert Fishman, the drummer who joins the band. Superbad's gorgeous Emma Stone also stars and even Will Arnett has a cameo, too. I'm not sure this is going to be one of the best comedies of the summer, but I definitely think it'll be one of those better-than-the-others comedies. It also reminds me a lot of Hot Rod but with Rainn Wilson as a rockstar instead of Andy Samberg. Take a look at the badass new trailer below and let us know what you think! On the set of "Nailed"
And this is not the first time the director David O. Russell has had conflicts with some of the actors in his films, in this video during "I heart Huckabees" he had a fight with the actress Lilly Tomlin:

"My mom says that I'll alway be a perpetual teenager, and I hope she is right about it. [...] So highschool is like an embryo of how your adult life probably will develop. It's the time you secretly begin to take notes in your mind about things you didn't suspect they existed" -read the whole sappy post in Rian Johnson's forum. I wrote these lines and I still feel almost the same that I explained then, maybe those jv years marked me so hard that after watching "Brick" I developed a crush on Joseph Gordon-Levitt, remember? and now, well, we have umpteen videos being uploaded by me dedicated to Mike Cera, so let's see, it seems to me this can be called a new crush in Weirdland. Kendra is in love again after watching two "high-school" movies as "Superbad" and "Juno", which partially were about pre-college days, both starred by Michael Cera. I resisted at first (mainly because he's way younger than me -although don't be fooled, my mental maturity is far away from my age- so that balances things a bit, k?)
This canadian blonde guy Mr. Awkward Character reminds me of my high-school crush with whom I shared my little luxurious world at the time, he conquered my insouciant teen soul when he played -he actioned the play button- in a secret session a song that tuned my heart (although my heart got hurt in the process). Just in the moment we (very shyly) started to dance together I had this crazy thought of when the peak of the song would come maybe I couldn't stand it, that's why I was hurt, I was afraid of that moment coming, that could become real, because I realised maybe no other moment, no other song, no other person would make me feel so crazy, so hurt, so beautiful... and there was a kiss -you forget all when that moment of the song (the tower of song) and that kiss collision in your mind- my thoughts melted, because not only that irreal moment (immarcessible, inmesurable in time) mustn't be true, I couldn't be true either.
how many times does the dull mute soundtrack outside of weirdland make me remember that song that melts my thought, that dissolves my fears?
