Maggie Gyllenhaal talks about her Oscar nomination

Sandra Bullock was seen chatting up Jeff Bridges; Maggie Gyllenhaal was sandwiched between Vera Farmiga and Carey Mulligan; George Clooney was next to 'Avatar' director James Cameron, with Meryl Streep to his front; and 'Up in the Air' director Jason Reitman was next to his dad Ivan Reitman.

The nominees all had an opportunity to relax and enjoy each other's company in a non-competitive setting before the big
night on March 7.

Maggie Gyllenhaal, nominated to Oscar for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in Crazy Heart (2009).

"Maggie Gyllenhaal has just nabbed one of the greatest honors an actor can have — an Academy Award nomination, for her supporting role in Crazy Heart. But instead of being a nervous first-time nominee, Maggie says she’s excited to enjoy the ride! “That’s my goal; I would like to have fun,” Maggie told OK! and other reporters at AARP The Magazine’s ninth annual Movies for Grownups Awards, honoring Robert De Niro in Beverly Hills.

Maggie adds that part of her relaxed attitude is due to the fact that the Oscar is her only chance to win an award for the role.

“I wasn’t nominated for anything else for this movie, so on some level, I let go of the award stuff,” she admits. “I did sort of go through the thing, ‘Oh, awards aren’t everything,’ and then to be nominated was kind of a little mind trip.”

But what about that all-important aspect of every awards ceremony — the dress?
“I am going to have a fitting when I go back home to New York,” Maggie revealed to OK!. “I saw some pictures of some beautiful dresses, and I’m going to try them on.”

Screencaps of Jake Gyllenhaal from The New York Time video.

"The New York Times Magazine’s close-ups with leading actors are pretty cool. (Admittedly, we’re biased, and not just because those magazine assignments are pretty plumb gigs.) This year, Jake Gyllenhaal, Julianne Moore, George Clooney, Vera Farmiga and Zoe Saldana reveal their favorite performances of the last decade. Our vote would have to include Sandra Bullock’s wig". Robert Pattinson trying to stay in character shooting "Remember Me"

Emilie de Ravin plays Ally Craig, Robert Pattinson's love interest in "Remember Me" (2010).
Emilie and her co-stars talk about Remember Me and Robert Pattinson.

"Robert Pattinson teamed up with Lost’s Emilie De Ravin for a dreamy, Twilight-esque photo shoot for the March issue of Vogue to promote their very non-vampire-related romantic drama, Remember Me.
The Vogue shoot reminds us of the meadow dream sequences in Twilight where Rob and Kristen gaze dreamily at one another, lost in love. But in these photos the British hunk, 23, dressed in a herringbone wool jacket and a Calvin Klein collection shirt, shares an intimate look with his (other) leading lady, Emilie, 28, who’s wearing a flowing beige Chanel voile dress.

"Robert Pattinson struggled to stay in character on the set of his new film "Remember Me" - because he was constantly surrounded by screaming girls. The "Twilight" hunk plays a young rebel who falls in love with Emilie de Ravin's character.
But the Brit insists giving a realistic performance was almost impossible, as the hordes of hysterical fans kept pulling him out of character. He tells America's Vogue magazine, "It was the most ridiculous experience. You're trying to stay in character and you're trying to walk down the street, but all those people keep reminding you that you're not this character." Source: www.aceshowbiz.com
