David Kagen is one of the top acting teachers in Hollywood. He said Gyllenhaal possesses rare qualities for an actor, and as a result his career options are many.
“When I see Jake doing interviews, and then watch him in something like ‘Brothers’, there’s no change. It’s like this wonderful seamless transition into whatever role he’s playing. Everything seems to be available to him, his sense of humor, his toughness. There is a sort of an ease. … There are just some people who have that.”

Poster believes the actor’s presence in “Prince of Persia” represents an opportunity for Gyllenhaal to have some fun rather than signal a dubious step down an unfortunate career path. “I think Jake is very smart that way,” he said. “Everybody’s got to do one of these pictures on the way up. I think he’s very grounded.”
In Hollywood, there is often a chasm between how an actor views himself and what the business sees him as.
Holofcener, for one, hopes Gyllenhaal doesn’t spend much time thinking about any of that.
"We recently had a chance to speak with Jake Gyllenhaal and we asked the popular actor if it was true that a sequel was already in the works? "No, not at all", replied the actor. "I think everybody's just hoping that the audience is going to like this movie and if they respond to it I think we would be more than happy to try our hand at another one. I think at this point we're all just hoping people will like this and go and see this one."

"Jake Gets “Carried” Away With His Body: Jake Gyllenhaal will face off against the “Sex and The City” ladies next weekend at the box office, but according to the “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” star, he’s bigger than Mr. Big! According to People, Jake surprised an audience getting a sneak peek at his new action adventure movie this week in Century City, Calif., and he joked with the crowd about his upcoming showdown with Carrie Bradshaw. “This,” Jake reportedly said referring to his body, “is the real ‘Sex and The City!’” See Access’s London pub crawl with Jake, HERE:
