Occasional same-sex attraction

Cory Kennedy and Peaches Geldof.

"A friend and I went to a Cobrasnake party the other night.  I left with some (act-|wait-)tress who, instead of taking her clothes off,
decided to spend two hours explaining how she knew Emmy Rossum was a lez. My friend, on the other hand, got to leave with Cory Kennedy.

'It was like a soul splitting in two. The ethereal half floats gently up to the ceiling, to gaze down upon the corporeal half and Cory, as they continue their primal, atavisitic ravaging of each other’s bodies. Then–at the exact moment of orgasm–the ethereal spirit ejaculates starshine all across the room. It cascades down and seeps into your skins. Your minds are suddenly flooded with visions. You are Anthony and Cleopatra. Lancelot and Guinivere. Jesus and Mary Magdalene. You are Adam and Eve. You are every couple, ever, from the beginning until the end of time'.

"Fledgling scenesters Peaches Geldof and Cory Kennedy showed up early to see her. There were cute teen girls infatuated with her bisexual vibe. A tall, bobbed brunette with a black motorcycle jacket pleaded with me to get her backstage.

Weeks later, a slick lesboerotic “look book” was published featuring Trullie eyeing Kennedy and Viera-Newton as they frolicked around a swimming pool.
Like James Dean, the older, cooler kid glancing at Sal Mineo knowingly in Rebel Without a Cause".

-"I had this tainted vision of femininity my whole life and then realized I get to disassemble and reassemble it and be a woman in my own right. I've been buying dresses and all these things that before I totally shunned.
-What clicked that suddenly you're into being a chick?
-I'd never brush my hair or wear makeup, I'd wear baggy clothes and smelled. I didn't care. I never had boyfriends when I was younger and had my first real relationship when I was 18. It's horrible to say that love or men was the motivation, but it was interesting, because I was finally seeing myself through someone else's eyes.
Emile Hirsch and Jena Malone in "Into the wild" (2007).

-What's your favorite movie that you've done?
-Into the Wild was such an immense experience that I'd have to say it's my favorite. It was such a beautiful collaboration creatively that it blew my mind that it could actually happen in film.

-Ever end up dating a fan?
Jake Gyllenhaal and Jena Malone in "Donnie Darko" (2001).
-I dated this one guy but didn't know until later that Donnie Darko was his favorite movie. He had a shrine in his house. I saw it. I was a little freaked and I didn't call him anymore [Laughs].

Covariations with the respective amygdala seed region in hetero- and homosexual subjects. Credit: Image courtesy of National Academy of Sciences, PNAS (copyright 2008).

"Ivanka Savic and Per Lindström, of the Department of Clinical Neuroscience at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden, now report that the brains of heterosexual men and homosexual women are slightly asymmetric—the right hemisphere is larger than the left—and the brains of gay men and straight women are not.

Positron emission tomography (PET) scans taken by the researchers also show that in connectivity of the amygdala (which is important for emotional learning), lesbians resemble straight men, and gay men resemble straight women".

Nicole Kidman and Lauren Bacall.
"Occasional same-sex attraction, but not major attraction, was more common among the most educated.

There was a large group with occasional same-sex attraction, which was larger for females than males and largest for those with the most education.

The association of same-sex attraction with education has also been found in the US, although there the association between increasing education and increasing prevalence of same-sex attraction was strongest among women (Laumann et al., 1994)".

MAY, JAKE WEIRD ANNIVERSARY

Dear weirdos, I haven't forgotten our third anniversary, which was on 15th May 2009, all this "mess" wonderblogging (most rewarding for me) started one crazy night 15th May three years ago:
in Weirdland.

I had blogged about it but it was delayed as draft:
on the previous day, 14th May, and the Cookie Monster celebrating it with us.

Dastan: a legitimate hero

-As a sixth-grader, Jake revelaed his initial career plan was to be a bird!

"Gyllenhaal is charged with battling the shadowy cult of assassins The Hanssansin, a heroic role that the newly-buff leading man claims says him to the role. "I'm always fascinated with these kinds of stories of the hero's journey," Gyllenhaal told us. "You're playing a legitimate hero, you know? I think it's an honour to do that."

Newell, meanwhile, says there's much more to Prince Of Persia than Gyllenhaal roaming the sixth century with his top off. "This isn't just kind of kiss kiss, bang bang," stressed the Four Weddings And A Funeral director. "It's like a superheated, super-actioned Noah story. It's what happens when the gods get angry and so fed up with humans they want to rub them out and start all over again."

Scott Pilgrim new video

"Edgar Wright has shared another production diary video for SCOTT PILGRIM vs. THE WORLD, this one featuring a peek behind the scenes at the nightclub clash between Winstead's rollerskating kung-fu courier Ramona and ninja girl Roxie Richter. I wonder if subspace will be involved?

The movie revolves around the Toronto slacker of the title, who splits his time between playing in his band Sex Bob-omb and doing battle with the seven evil exes of his foxy but mysterious new girlfriend". Source: www.joblo.com

New affiliation: James Franco

James Franco with Jake Gyllenhaal.
We have a new affiliation with a beautiful and remarkable actor on the rise: James Franco, now Jake Weird is on Finding Franco, section Miscellanea Affiliates. Thanks a lot, James-franco.com administrator!

James Franco as Scott Smith in "Milk" (2008).

James Dean.
"Franco played James Dean in an American television biopic. He did a decent job and won a Golden Globe. Yet inhabiting James Dean came at a price. "I got it into my head that I needed to be isolated and so told my girlfriend at the time that I wouldn't be talking to her for four months," he recalls. "It did not go down well. We finally made a compromise where I talked to her for an hour a week on the phone. I no longer do that."
Franco was known as the actor who auditioned for the lead in Spider-Man but had to make do with being Peter Parker's mate Harry Osborn. It's only now, following his turn as a long-haired pothead in Pineapple Express and his role in Milk, that he's about to become a proper A-lister - the type of actor who can pick and choose his projects. He was once voted "Student with the best smile" at high school and although he's 30 now, it's still easy to see why; he spends so much time looking intense that it's a relief when he cracks a grin. Franco is happy to be described as a "scene stealer" in the multi-nominated Milk. Just don't ask him trivial questions about working out ("I don't. It's boring") or kissing his hero Sean Penn. "It's not that I mind talking about it, it's just that... there's so much scrutiny over the answers I offer," he says. "I really noticed it when Jake [Gyllenhaal] and Heath [Ledger] had to talk about kissing in Brokeback Mountain. It's like you can never answer in the right way. If I'm too casual it looks as though I'm making fun of the film. If I don't answer, it looks as though I'm uncomfortable. I can't win." He rubs his eyes. Then, finally, smiles. "God, I'm being way too serious! OK. You want the simple answer? I had no problem with kissing Sean Penn." Source: www.guardian.co.uk

Kristen Stewart (She's your lover now)

A musical video featuring some images of Kristen Stewart, his boyfriend Michael Angarano and two of her co-stars with whom she's had very good chemistry: Robert Pattinson in "Twilight" (who has been rumoured having crushed on Kristen) and Emile Hirsch (which is one of her friends) in "Into the wild". Michael Angarano and Emile Hirsch co-starred "Lords of Dogtown" directed by Catherine Hardwicke (who has also directed the first part of "Twilight" franchise). Emile Hirsch and Robert Pattinson were spotted together at the afterparty of amfAR in Cannes a few days ago.

Mamma mia awakes up girl in coma

"After spending five days unconscious, experts say it's a miracle three-year-old Layla awoke from her coma unscathed, and singing Mamma Mia hit". Source: www.dailymotion.com

Amanda Seyfried and Meryl Streep in "Mamma Mia"."Layla Towsey was so sick after getting the brain infection that she suffered a heart attack and had to be put on a life support machine. Her mother even kissed her goodbye.

But five days later, Layla slowly started to regain consciousness.

"We had been preparing for bad news as the life support machine was keeping her alive," said Layla's mother, Katy. “But on Sunday I could hear her singing 'Mamma Mia' quietly. I couldn't believe it. I knew then she would be OK."

Layla, from Gidea Park, East London, had learned the song after seeing the “Mamma Mia!” movie. She is now on her way to a full recovery".
