  7. Thanks a bunch, gr77 for your link !! I am a Sam Mendes addict (one of my top fav movies is "American Beauty") and Kate Winslet was a mutual crush from my barcelonese friend Rut and me, extracted from Oscarwatch:
"TMZ has learned that the former Universal Pictures president is on the verge of drawing a bead on a new Western called "Godless" at his alma mater, with Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes ("Jarhead") directing.

Based on a script by Scott Frank (himself Oscar-nominated for Universal's 1999 crime drama, "Out of Sight"), "Godless" follows a mysterious stranger who's taken in by a widow and her son. When the law catches up with the enigmatic interloper, he turns himself in, but soon enough his old - and rather violent - compadres come looking for him.

We also hear Mendes is employing that time-honored Hollywood tradition of sleeping with your leading lady. In this case, though, there's no need to alert the tabloids: That'd be his wife, the willowy Kate Winslet.

TMZ hears offers have also been made to Sean Penn and Joaquin Phoenix to star, but it's unclear if their reps will commence negotiations for the project anytime soon. "

Ok, Sean Penn and Joaquin Phoenix are two "war cinema horses", but Jarhead's character was much impressive for men than Buffalo Soldiers's character by J Phoenix, and Sean Penn has made so many roles, give Jake a chance, and he'll shine beside Kate!
