Pearly white smiles

"Dr. Jeff Golub-Evans in New York City says pearly whites are the ultimate fashion accessory these days:

"If we think of models, beauty pageant queens, Sarah Palin, talk show hosts, news anchors and more and more just regular folk walking down the street white teeth have become a fashion accessory. It's something that's become a must-have."

The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry recently released an annual survey of celebrity smiles.
The association voted Angelina Jolie as having the "sexiest celebrity female smile" and Kelly Ripa as having the "sweetest celebrity female smile".
The AACD also voted Clive Owen as the male celebrity with the sexiest smile, and Jake Gyllenhaal as having the most innocent male celebrity smile". Source: www.3news.co.nz

Gay lip-locks

"But last night Marge Simpson cast threw caution to the wind when she enjoyed a lingering lesbian kiss with one of her friends.

The blue-bouffanted matriach, voiced by Julie Kavner, planted a smacker on her attractive friend's lips in the living room of her family home in Springfield while husband Homer looked on.

However, viewers should not worry that Marge is going to run off with her glamorous friend because it transpires that the smooch is all a figment of beer-swigging Homer's imagination.

The lardy father had been panicking about the disasters that could befall his family after his insurance expires but soon started day-dreaming about his wife locking lips with another woman. The show has been broaching lesbianism more over the last few years and revealed in 2005 that Marge's disapproving older sister Patty was a closet lesbian, who consequently gets engaged to a female golf player Veronica". Sean Penn and James Franco kissing in the subway in "Milk".

"Fresh from his Best Actor Oscar win for portraying slain gay-rights leader Harvey Milk, Sean Penn joined politicians and activists in California on Tuesday to push for a day to honor the man he portrayed in Milk.

Harvey Milk Day on May 22 would not be a holiday, but teachers would recall how the San Francisco supervisor fought for equal rights before his assassination more than 30 years ago.

"It is important that we remember Harvey Milk for his spirit, his courage and his activism", Penn, dressed in black, told reporters gathered in San Francisco's Tosca Café, which shares the name of Milk's favorite opera. "Harvey taught us the importance of standing up for what you believe in. He showed us the value of never giving up, and he proved that action creates change."

Penn was joined by politicians and civil rights leaders, including gay-rights activist Cleve Jones (played in Milk by Emile Hirsch). He said that so many have been inspired by the story since Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger vetoed a similar proposal by state Sen. Mark Leno last September that the governor is unlikely to reject the measure a second time".

Leonardo DiCaprio in "Inception" by Nolan

"Leonardo DiCaprio will star in "Inception", the science- fiction film that Christopher Nolan ("The Dark Knight") wrote and will direct as his next pic at Warner Bros.

The project shoots this year and is slated to be released in summer 2010, with Nolan and Emma Thomas producing. DiCaprio's deal is in final negotiations.

Script has been kept under wraps but the studio calls it a contemporary sci-fi actioner set within the architecture of the mind.
DiCaprio, coming off "Revolutionary Road" and "Body of Lies", will next be seen starring in the Martin Scorsese-directed "Shutter Island" at Paramount".

Jennifer Aniston in Elle's interview

"In "The Good Girl", Jennifer Aniston plays a Madame Bovary for the Wal-Mart age. She's an adulterous small-town wife named Justine Last who works in a tacky department store and has a disastrous fling with a fellow cashier.

It's a great role for Aniston. With her casually seductive movie-star face and perfect, curvy figure, Justine looks out of place in her scenes -- just as she's supposed to. Justine is a frustrated 30-year-old checkout girl at the Retail Rodeo of Wasteland, Texas. She's a sexy pearl among bland swine in a bleached-out, styleless mid-American cul-de-sac, working in the wrong job in the wrong town, married to the wrong guy (John C. Reilly as pothead house-painter Phil), and eventually mated with the wrong lover as well (Jake Gyllenhaal as writer wannabe Holden Worther).

The movie is a dark comedy about false dreams and lost illusions -- and, thanks to a fine cast and a smart script, it's an effective one. Director Miguel Arteta and writer-actor Mike White, the acidly clever but inwardly tender duo behind "Chuck & Buck" and this movie, make Justine an anti-heroine at the same time they make fun of her and her world. They make Wasteland, Texas, the quintessential town to escape -- except that in this film, the characters seemingly can't".

"When asked if she ever had the desire to "set the record straight", presumably in reference to the much-publicised break-up of her marriage to Pitt three years ago and his subsequent marriage to Angelina Jolie, she replied: "I don't owe anybody my side of the story.
"There are no sides! There is no bad guy and there is no good guy. There are no villains and there is no heroine in this story."
Rather than the "funny, quirky, pretty roles" she usually gets offered, she said she would enjoy being the next Bond girl.
"I'd love to do an action move. James Bond! Glamour! Daniel Craig! ****-loads of fun!"Speaking about her new film, a tear-jerking story about a destructive Labrador, co-starring Owen Wilson, she told ELLE Magazine: "What's great about this movie is that it's a true story.
"It's not pretty. It's about the reality of a marriage.
"It's a portrait of those moments, which everyone has, where you hit a snag. People go to Mach 5 – "We're done! This is over! We can't recover!" – when, in fact, it's beautiful.
"I think breakdowns equal breakthrough. You go further."

Michelle Williams' Topless scene

Michelle Williams and her daughter Matilda Ledger at LAX Airport in Los Angeles on 2nd March, 2009.

"You probably haven't heard of the movie "Incendiary", and that's because it went straight to video, and also because it's one of the many crap movies starring Michelle Williams and Ewan McGregor. But this one's special, because it has Michelle Williams topless, and doing a Doggy Style sex scene with Ewan. Yeah, I thought that might get your attention. Oh, and Michelle Williams does a crap British accent. But, you know, boobs". Source: www.egotastic.com

What Just Happened: "Sneak Peek" Kristen's New Flick

A videoclip of Kristen and Robert De Niro in "What Just Happened" (2008), directed by Barry Levinson.

Kristen Stewart felt good being bitten

"A very hot-blooded Kristen Stewart described how good it felt to be bitten by Robert Pattinson.

It took a lot for the Japanese questioner to get the question out. She was stammering and her voice was cracking to such an extent that others in the room was giggling. Finally it came: "How did you feel when Robert bit you?" the fan asked.
Stewart took a playful look at Pattinson to her left and asked, "Well, how do you think it felt?"

Before the answer could he even be translated, she answered her own question. "(It) was so much better!"

Cold fish Stewart? Forget about it. Instant volcanic heat blast. The response had Pattinson blushing and Lautner slapping his knee while the audience broke into waves of wild laughter as it was translated. Even the translators were laughing.

The questioner pressed her luck and asked, "Which was better, being bitten or kissed by Pattinson?" There were more playfully flirty looks by the couple in question on the podium, but Stewart fell short of answering.

"I don't know", she shrugged".

The real times of Harvey Milk

"In the film, Milk doesn't make much of a point about those lost years. "Forty years old and what have I done with my life?" he asks a new lover near the beginning. But the script is never explicit about what prevented him from living fully before 1973, the pivotal year in which he opened his camera store in the Castro. For a better sense of the painful secrecy Milk endured as a closeted gay man living in a pre-Stonewall world, and of the subsequent, purposeful freedom he felt during his belated coming-out, one can turn not only to Robert Epstein and Richard Schmiechen's exceptional 1984 film, The Times of Harvey Milk (which won the Oscar for Best Documentary Feature in 1985), but to the bits of documentary footage Van Sant inserts into Milk's manufactured world.

[...] Milk worked as a high school math and history teacher and basketball coach, for an insurance company, and then as research supervisor for Bache and Company, a Wall Street investment firm. Stolid and bourgeois, he slogged on, wearing suits and punching a time clock, not quite knowing who he might be, and always hiding behind his at times overwhelming personal responsibilities and burdens. He took a series of younger lovers, all of whom were in some way needy or damaged. (Several attempted suicide, with the last, Jack Lira, succeeding some months before Milk's own death.) Hoping to temper the insecurities of Jack McKinley, a lover who suffered from manic depression, abused drugs and alcohol, and frequently threatened suicide, the still-closeted Milk pulled up stakes in 1967 and moved with McKinley to Dallas, where he worked for Bache's Texas branch. Three weeks after arriving, McKinley, bored, went back to New York. Milk returned a year later.Van Sant's aesthetic is constricted by the fixed nature of biography. After Milk has brought us up to 1973, the year Milk decides to run for a seat on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, one feels that Van Sant loses interest in the story. There's no room for invention—not with his actors, or even his cinematographer. He must stick to the facts, or to those facts that make Milk Milk—that is, a subject worthy of a biopic. Early on in the film, when Van Sant inserts ghostly documentary images of people in and around the Castro in the 1970s into the montage, one has the sense that the director is making a subtle point about the film's manufactured past in relation to the "real" past of the Castro.

As we watch Milk run for a seat on the Board of Supervisors (between 1973 and 1976, he ran and lost three times, twice for the Board of Supervisors and once for the California State Assembly), Penn becomes less of an ensemble player, and by all appearances begins to direct himself. It's as if, denied the opportunity to play with the images as much as he'd like, Van Sant has given up playing at all. Left to his own devices, Penn becomes too actory. But it's Emile Hirsch (playing Cleve Jones, Milk's teenage protégé) who forces Penn to return to the seductive openness he demonstrated in the beginning of the film. Dressed in shorts, his hair a mass of curls, Jones was a recent transplant to San Francisco when he met Milk in the Castro in 1973. Having survived more than his share of anti-gay crimes in his home state of Arizona, Jones arrived in San Francisco armed with his only defense—his smart mouth, and reflexive irony.

By the time he meets Milk by chance near the latter's camera shop and thinks he's being hit on, Hirsch lets those defenses show—physically and verbally. He's attracted to Milk's paternalism and disturbed by that attraction. During that first meeting, he's drawn to Milk as he walks away. But as Milk talks, Hirsch seems to resign himself to his attraction, letting his arms fall to his sides. In most of their scenes, Hirsch makes Penn resist the temptation to play cute by confronting him with a vulnerability that's greater than his own. Indirectly, Hirsch represents Van Sant's intuitive visual approach to filmmaking, while Penn sticks close to his need to please—a desire that mirrors Milk's own desire to charm, always.
By 1975, Milk had become an ally of Mayor George Moscone, who helped institute a system by which candidates for the Board of Supervisors ran by district rather than from the city at large. In 1977, Milk launched his fourth campaign from the Castro, which is to say the newly created District Five. This time, he won the election—and a larger platform from which to articulate one of his biggest political causes, equal rights for gay people. The effects of his own history of secrecy weighed heavily on Milk. In the film, Penn puts it bluntly: "I've had four lovers, and three of them attempted suicide. And it's my fault, because I made them stay in the closet." Milk's tendency to be drawn to the disenfranchised finds its final object, in a way, in Dan White, a straight, sports-loving San Francisco native who was one of his colleagues on the Board of Supervisors. (Given Milk's early years as a sports enthusiast, it's relatively easy to see why he feels for White: White is the man Milk could have become had he married and remained closeted)". Buying lady underwear?

"Jake Gyllenhaal reportedly did a runner from Marks And Spencer's last week, after being spotted buying ladies underwear.

We can only assume the pants in question were for his gorgeous actress girlfriend, Reese Witherspoon otherwise Jake may find himself answering some tricky questions!

According to The Sun, the actor went to pay for the underwear at the back of the shop, but was told he'd have to go to the main tills instead.

Rather than face the onslaught of curious women, he instead put the lingerie down and legged it out of the store!

A shopper commented to The Sun: "He was putting the underwear into his plastic basket.

"When he was told to use the main tills he realised he'd been spotted, dumped everything and made a speedy run for it! It was very funny."

"The curious case of Benjamin Button" & "Zodiac" clips

"Scott Feinberg at The Envelope has created a list of his “The top 25 movies of the past 10 years that got no Oscar love” and it’s an interesting idea considering there has been so much hatred aimed at the Academy over The Dark Knight not getting a Best Picture nomination, but it did actually receive eight nominations, which is nothing to scoff at. We are talking about films that didn’t receive any nominations, zero, zilch, nada. Any come to mind?

I had never considered the idea since it is a relatively hard thing to imagine that a favorite film of yours didn’t receive any Oscar nominations — wait, is that why general audiences aren’t interested in the Oscars? — but then I went back over my 2003-2008 Top Ten lists and found several that weren’t nominated and put together a quick top ten and an example category I think they should have been nominated in.
1. Zodiac [2007] (Director, David Fincher)
2. Ballast [2008] (Film Editing)
3. 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days [2008] (Director, Cristian Mungiu)
4. I’ve Loved You So Long [2008] (Supporting Actress, Elsa Zylberstein)
5. Inside Man [2006] (Original Screenplay, Russell Gewirtz) 6. Jarhead [2005] (Cinematography, Roger Deakins)
7. The Edge of Heaven [2008] (Foreign Language Film)
8. Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang [2005] (Adapted Screenplay, Shane Black)
9. Things We Lost in the Fire [2007] (Actress, Halle Berry)
10. Spanglish [2004] (Original Screenplay, James L. Brooks)

"The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" was nominated for 13 Oscars and 11 BAFTAs, and won three Oscar Awards: Best Achievement in Art Direction, Best Achievement in Makeup and Best Achievement in Visual Effects, comforting director David Fincher for the way that Zodiac was generally overlooked. "The story is that of the eponymous Benjamin Button (Brad Pitt) who is born old and ages backwards throughout his life. Raised in an old folks' home, Benjamin at first doesn't realise that he's different from everyone else - as you can see in the first clip, with a five (or so) year-old Button getting up to gentle mischief that his adoptive mother Queenie (Taraji P. Henson) has to watch out for. Along the way he falls in love with a girl called Daisy (Cate Blanchett).

New Affiliate: Amanda Seyfried Source

We have a new affiliate here in Weirdland, with Amanda Seyfried Source, one of the main sites dedicated to this rising beautiful star, Jake Weird is added in Miscellanea sites, thank you very much, Mycah and keep your good work up!

"Since Channing Tatum’s romantic drama ‘Dear John‘ tops the list of upcoming movies that CTU readers are most excited to see, I’m sure many of you will also be excited to check out the first promotional photo from Screen Gems courtesy of a new USA Today article.

We do learn one other important tidbit from the article that I’m not sure fans will be quite as happy about…Previously, I reported that ‘Dear John‘ may be released in early 2010 instead of late 2009, because both Channing Tatum and his love interest in the film, Amanda Seyfried of ‘Mamma Mia!’, already had a large number of films coming out this year.

Although the reason for the move is not mentioned, USA Today is now confirming the change in release date. I’m sorry to say, but fans will have to wait until 2010 to see ‘Dear John‘ hit theaters".

Reese rumored to be in new Payne's film

"Alexander Payne has been laying quite low since Sideways earned him all kinds of critical acclaim, but early rumors about his next project, Downsizing, indicate the wait might be worth it. An official casting notice for the film cites Sacha Baron Cohen, Paul Giamatti, Meryl Streep and Reese Witherspoon-- all in the same film!-- as the main cast.

That would be enough to pique pretty much anyone's interest, but Payne as the director seems almost too good to be true. Hollywood Elsewhere printed the casting info with a note that a source close to the production says the casting is by no means final.

Downsizing is a pretty perfect title for any comedy of the moment, and Payne has already proven himself so adept at satirizing American neuroses that we pretty much require him to come back and tease us about our pink slip fears. Here's hoping this dream cast actually gets to become a reality".

Two clips of "500 days of summer"

"Two video clips of 500 Days of Summer were quietly released to /Flim The clips do a good job of juxtaposing the many different emotions that happen throughout the film. Clearly these two moments happen at very different times in Summer and Tom’s relationship. The clips give us a nice indication of the good chemistry between Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt and it also gives us a peak at the cinematography of the film.
In this first clip, Tom tells Summer about his real passion (surprisingly not writing greeting cards) and Summer lets us in on her hilarious nickname in school.

In this second 500 Days of Summer clip, Tom and Summer sit in a late night diner as Summer compares their relationship to Sid Vicious and Nancy".

Anton Yelchin as Green Lantern?

"You remember Green Lantern, right? The guy in the green suit with the super powerful green ring that can do anything you can dream off, but, er, for some reason, can’t do squat against anything with the yellow in it? Yeah, that dude.LR is pretty good when it comes to these big-time casting rumors. Remember when they broke the Jake Gyllenhaal as the Prince of Persia? Yeah, that was them, too". "With both a director and a release date firmly in place, the search is underway for Hal Jordan.

From what I gathered so far, Sam Worthington is obviously unavailable due to his role in Clash of Titans...Ryan Gosling, who we reported earlier as a candidate, passed on the role...
According to a source, Emile Hirsch (Speed Racer) has also just passed on the role...

So the producers are looking at every young up and coming actor in Hollywood INCLUDING a name I at first found peculiar, but it grew on me and I wanted to share it with you guys.

Parkour in The Prince of Persia

Jake leaving a medical Center in Beverly Hills, on 27th February 2009.

Prince of Persia parkour video:

"Latino Review, who always manages to nab early script reviews, has recently taken a look at the Prince of Persia movie and given it an overwhelmingly positive A-.

Though the review attempts to abstain from spoilers, it does mention the script specifically calling for Parkour, a French physical art form that emphasizes momentum and efficient movement. You might remember seeing it in the French action flick District B13 or Casino Royale. It also fits really well given the Prince's acrobatic nature".Source: www.joystiq.com
"Le Parkour (also known simply as Parkour, PK, or free running) was invented in 1988 in the Parisian suburb of Lisses by a group of teenagers including the legends David Belle and Sebastien Foucan, who formed a clan called the "Yamakasi", or new (modern) samurai. it is a sport in which practitioners, called "traceurs, run, jump, climb, and roll rhrough rooftops, gaps, pipes, practically anything in an urban environment. it demands great physical agility, and masters of PK, such as Belle, are able to jump over cars, leap 9-meter distances from one rooftop to another. It has been described as "obstacle-coursing" or "the art of movement". the fluid art of parkour is sometimes combined with the smooth flow of such arts such as capoeira and Xtreme martial arts. examples of such hybrid practitioners are Team Ryouko, the famous Toronto martial arts stunt team, and the mysterious Xyndicate, a tiny, underground clan located in the eastern United States."
