Source Code filming in Ottawa's train station

"Actor Jake Gyllenhaal is coming to town in late March to film scenes for a big-budget science-fiction thriller at the Ottawa train station.

Gyllenhaal, from Brokeback Mountain, The Day After Tomorrow and the cult thriller Donnie Darko, is the star of Source Code, a thriller about a soldier who inexplicably awakens in the body of a commuter and is forced to solve a mystery about a harrowing train bombing.
Duncan Jones at the 42nd Sitges Film Festival - Final Gala & Awards, on 12th October 2009.

Duncan Jones, son of music icon David Bowie, is the director of the movie, which is budgeted at about $35 million, according to press reports.
Oscar-winner Ben Kingsley is believed to be in the cast, although the producers would not confirm it.The Ottawa train station will figure prominently in the movie and was largely chosen because the architecture of the building has a "modern, futuristic" look to it. A production crew totalling more than 150 people may come to the city for at least four days of shooting in late March. It's believed this is the first time a movie of this scale has been filmed at the Tremblay Road station. The film will be shot mostly in Montreal, starting in early March. It is among a number of outside productions expected to revitalize the struggling film industry in Montreal. As well, it may help revive production in Ottawa, which also suffered in 2009". "Farmiga will play a hands-on communications officer controlling Gyllenhaal as he travels through time and space. Monaghan is a woman on the train with whom the man is involved romantically.

The film is slated to begin filming in March. Summit Entertainment is distributing in North America.
Farmiga is flying high off her Golden Globe-nominated performance as George Clooney's love interest in "Up in the Air", one of the season's major awards players.
Monaghan starred with Shia LaBeouf in "Eagle Eye" and recently wrapped "Due Date" with Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis". Source: www.reuters.com

Kendra, I watched a real good movie called The Boy In The Striped Pajamas. Vera Farmiga was the mother in this movie. All I could think of was how striking beautiful she is. Watching lots of movies since I am laid up with the knee.

Oh that's awesome news for Montreal, although most of the scenes will involve major CGI (Yay for Ubisoft Montreal !!!).
If the movie is as great as the game, this could be a first installment for a trilogy.

Hi, Gail, welcome back!! I felt so sad when I knew you had broken your knee, poor thing, I hope you can recover of it completely, I'll think of you and I'll cross my fingers, it had to be a rough time for you, I missed you a lot, dear :) xxoo

and some people have talked to me well about The boy in the striped pajamas, Vera Farmiga also shared a very steamy scene with Leo DiCaprio in The Departed, she's very attractive.

Hi, The Brain! Montreal will be an appropriate stage for Source Code and for Jake a little déjà vu after having filmed The day after tomorrow... Ottawa, the desolate train station, all this sounds almost Blade Runner-ish to me, I hope Duncan Jones doesn't saturate his movie with CGI, it loses part of its authenticity feel.
